Forgot the game was on. Turned the game on just in time to see the goal that wasn't but shoulda been. *sigh*
Refs in the ref thread: "This video shows it didn't cross the goal line. That contradictory snapshot is worthless." Also refs in the ref thread, every other discussion: "You can tell by this single frame that this call was clearly correct. The video doesn't tell the whole story."
That was the ugliest game I've seen in a long time. I like Champion and Twellman, they pull no punches on the shit reffing that goes on in MLS. That was classic Bennyball and probably guaranteed a playoff spot. It's 11:37 PM here in Italy so I'm signing off.
Bennyball: Use your opponents strengths against them! Everyone: Don't you mean... Bennyball: I KNOW WHAT I SAID
[and all others] - Watched the NBCSN talking heads with English accents complaining about VAR in the Premier League. FOUR obvious errors in the first 4 weeks of the season. Its terrible everywhere.
I understand you did not go to the Pisa game, it's a shame because it was a great game and a large 4-1 win over Cremonese (one of the supposed top serie B teams this year)
I did not realize MLS does not have goal line technology. In serie A it was introduced before VAR, and it shut down instantly any goal/non goal discussion.
Nah. VAR is worse there because they use some ridiculous standard that is used nowhere else where if it's reasonable that the ref missed it, it didn't happen. They have goal line technology though.
Certainly sounds more exciting than the one I watched. Just too late for me to make the trip down the road had a long day the day before, just watched the DC game on my tablet laying on the couch.
Well, I got the 2-0 score correct, even if the referees, all 6 of them, couldn't figure it out I hate it when people dribble into the corner with over 5 minutes left in the game; especially up by 1. Canouse is decent at defending - I just wish he'd stay more wide when he's playing in the wide position, he was making me (and the announcers) nervous
DCU are now 8 points clear of 9th with 3 games to play. 1 point likely will get the team in; 2 points definitely does. A berth in the 2020 Leagues Cup is increasingly likely as well.
Leagues Cup is probably a lock at this point given TFC will probably win the Canadian Championship moving them into the CCL. I know it isn't the CCL and we will roll out LUFC but I'm excited to see international football at Audi Field.
Yes but calling out MLS reffing is such low hanging fruit that it has roots on it. Besides any credibility they gained their was lost when they mentioned the possibility of DC United doing damage in the playoffs.
