I suppose the Atlantic Cup is on offer but I can't be bothered to check. More importantly, by virtue of having an utterly hilarious 6-game winless streak, the Red Bulls are in a complete tailspin. A United win would put their playoff hopes in doubt and really ******** with their waning confidence. Let's get Jesse Marsch fired!

Also, some people say Luis Robles touches children inappropriately.

    We Win on Wednesdays

Damn, I hate this New Jersey team with a passion.
I hope the new guys have learned my 20+ years of hate in a crash course of some kind.

I hope the coach doesn't rotate too much, let them rest on Saturday.
I saw an Arriola interview where he said with the incoming transfers, the team has changed to one that needs to keep the ball to succeed, and that they would need to match the Redbull press with one of their own. So I'll be looking for that.

    What to root for tonight:
Orlando over NE. If Orlando wins two more games and United wins out, they would fall one point behind United at the end of the season. Beating the Revs tonight and Philly on the last day would be peachy.
NYC over Montreal. Montreal has a tough finish, with a roadie in Colorado the exception. Just one win and United could only match them, and I don't see United winning any tiebreakers. They can't win again, only two draws will keep United alive.
Atlanta over Philly. Philly also has a tough finish, but will Atlanta do the deed without Almiron?
And finally DC over Redbull. If Redbull lose tonight, it gets really dicey for them. Roadie at Toronto, home against Vancouver and Atlanta with the final match at DC. Man, how sweet would it be for them to come to DC for the last game in RFK needing a result? It starts tonight. Vamos!

The European branch of the Red Bull GMbH Product Marketing and Business Development Department (leipzig) lost 2-0 yesterday. Why they are even associated with a tournament with "Champions" in their name is beyond me.

If they win they'll take the Atlantic Cup. Otherwise, it will be decided at RFK.

I've said before after our playoff hopes died I'd like nothing more than to deny them playoffs in front of 40,000 at RFK.

I have a game myself at 10:00 tonight, this should be good motivation!

Let's be real. The likelihood of our making the playoffs is thin, very thin. The chance for us to ruin things for the Metros is real.

To honor our tradition, to bring joy to the hearts of fans everywhere, to stand on the side of all that is good, and right, and fun, and beautiful about the beautiful game, we need to crush Jersey tonight.

I remember the snow bowl. I remember "you just got burned Johnny Walker." I remember the first 15 years of our rivalry. Make no mistake -- they are whiny, cheating scum.

We fans have stuck with this team for, our team, well, its hard to say why in recent years, but we've done it. Come on United. Channel your inner Etcheverry, Moreno, Stewart, Harkes1, Diaz Arce, Eskandarian... Borrow the inspiration and creativity you need from the great wellspring that made us champions in the past and a class organization.

Make us happy for a few games. Finish strong. And beat the scum.

Will Mullins ever figure out how to score away from home? Probably not, but we have to continue to make him a threat, and then have the midfield shoot like crazy.

I am still furious at them and that dipshit Peter Vermes for going out of order in the shootout in the '96 playoffs that gave the metros a very undeserved "win" - after that cheating asshole Giovanni Savarese clearly fouled Eddie Pope to tie the game.

    Still. ********ing. Furious.

Anyone remember the time before a game (against us?) that they shaved people's heads to look like Rhett Harty for free admission?

The way I see it (and correct me if I'm wrong) is if the Red Bulls lose their last 4 (2 against us) and the clubs between them and us in the standings at least tie among each other and lose against their other opponents, and we win our last 4, then we are in the playoffs. It's damn wishful thinking but given the clubs involved in this scenario, it wouldn't be a shocker if that happens. Just gotta take it one game at a time week by week. That being said, it's very unlikely but.... ¡Vamos United!

Besides cancer, the nasty stuff apparently causes gallstones, too. Last night I heard about a young woman who had her gall bladder removed and they blamed it on her RB consumption! (Seriously)

Put this way, sounds like the chances are zero. Sometimes I guess it takes more...

Imagine how good we'd be if we were ever ready at, say, when the season started -- instead of trying to come back from the dead after mid-season acquisitions.

Hamid did not travel because he's injured. Again. Back strain.

Damn - only thing I can think of with Harkes is maybe they don't want to risk his ankle. Having said that, Marcelo actually had a good game v San Jose
