is it me or does it always seem to rain when we are in DC? hasn't there been more than one occasion where it downright deluged?
Oh, yeah. There were some real downpours in the past both for league and SuperLiga games. 2008 is the one that I really remember. Last year's game had a 15 minute delay.
There was that one that was actually rescheduled, and some DC United fan was giving Dom a bunch of heckling, so after the game Dom jumped into the stands and went up to him. I think the official take was that he recognized someone and was just saying hello
Listening to the radio broadcast in the car is like 2007 as well except for these announcers the Dynamo try to pretend that they’re at the stadium but clearly theyre watching it off monitors. THey do a pretty good job pretending they are there, pumping in crowd noise, etc.
BTW, I just noticed the game is blacked out on MLS Live and Direct Kick here in Houston. So it’s watch on the KUBE or nothing I guess
The Elis sub was a killer. Even if he stands out there he’s dangerous and holds the DC defense back further. Garcia is not an MLS starting right back.
Damn, I saw that coming. I was about to type “what a hard-fought win”, but I decided to wait because of all the chances DC had in the last couple of minutes. BTW, what Arturo Alvarez just did at the end was like dribbling the ball and letting time run out instead of shooting a long 3-pointer.
Our subs did not play well when they came on. A lot of turnovers and almost no chances created. That and we defended horribly in the midfield.
PS - to the poster who said in another thread about nothing being wrong with being a counterattacking team. today you saw one of the issues. any decent possession team could’ve gotten out of there with a 2-1 win. what we have is a bunch of hard working players that are fast.
He is slow, but at least he was positioning himself and trying to mark players. Half of our team didn't even try to find their marks in the last 15 minutes of the game. It was lazy defending, lazy passing, and lazy tackling that gave up a ton of set pieces.
When that speed gets subbed off our counterattack goes away as well. We had nothing late because Elis was not on the field. Its funny because we didn't convert any of the chances we created but hopped on two terrible DC mistakes for our goals. Manotas did score but botched a few other chances. What happened to his finishing?
