Roger that. My favorite memory is a Jamaican dude in a full length quilted down coat. And he was still freezing!
For you all that were there, how does it compare to that early LA Galaxy game a couple seasons ago or the opener last year v SKC? I remember those colds
No game has been as cold as Harbor View. At the tailgate, Chico (RIP) went to take a whiz in the bushes and when he returned, declared, "My dick just called me a motherfvcker!" I miss that guy.
The Harbor View game was indeed cold - and made to feel all the more colder by the metal bleachers and seeing the poor freezing Jamaican fans there who were mostly unprepared for the conditions. I seem to recall even having a hard time keeping the fire going trying to cook sausages at the tailgate it was so cold and windy and wet. Even seeing Harbor View mentioned in the paper or in an internet soccer listing sends shivers thru me Can we talk about the 103 degree Chivas USA game instead?
I don't remember that one, but the worst for me was a 12 PM Sunday kickoff v. FC Beckham. I was on the quiet side that day and still didn't stop sweating for a second. The hangover just made things even more unbearable
I still remember a double-header played at FedEx. I'm not sure who any of the other teams were but the sun there was burning like we were watching a game on the planet Mercury.
The sight of a dozen Jamaicans huddling around a flaming 12 pound spliff warming themselves makes one's eyes water.
When I saw the Jamaican dude with the ankle-length quilted down coat I remember wondering if he might not be a member of the Jamaican bobsled team.
