What: A midweek game. When: Wednesday, 28 September 2016. 7:30 p.m. Where: RFK Stadium, the Nation's Capital Why: So that I can write this post tonight instead of pretending presidential debates are informative. This is a big opportunity. Orlando has Toronto and probably shouldn't win. If DC is a playoff team, they should be able to handle Columbus at home and stretch their lead. Maybe DC can make that last game against Orlando irrelevant. But, it's on short rest, so anything can happen. I hate midweek games.
We have shorter rest than you (1 day's worth). Yes, if you are a PO team you should handle us and throw dirt on the 2016 Crew season. If you aren't, and we win, then it looks like it will be five teams for two spots coming home (Montreal, DC, NE, Crew, Orlando). Having two games left with Chicago can give a team irrational hope.
This is another must/should win game. Dropping points would make the race for the play-offs needlessly tighter.
#WeWinWednesdays I love mid-week games, smaller crowd makes you sing louder and bring it harder. Plus, there's hanging out in Lot8 from about 3/3:30 trying to beat traffic from NoVa. DCU: 2 Crew: some number including or between 0 and 1 Gotta remember to set the DVR early, I tend to forget midweek sometimes We all Laugh at a Yellow Football Team
My job has moved since the last weekday game and my trip from work to RFK went from 50 to 15 minutes.
Isn't it like year 6 of "Crewzers held hostage"? I'm assuming they are held in a basement room at Mapfree (or whatever they call it) Stadium.
You'd have thought they would have tunneled across the street to the McDonalds by now if they were that close
Hard task without conditioning, depth and innovative coaching. Juve for example has played or will play Sept 10, 14, 18, 21, 24, and 27 in Serie A and the UCL and while it's unfair to compare United and Juve the MLS schedule is relatively easy by comparison, and (winning) UCL teams are very deep. If you mean rest between knee walking bouts of drunken celebration/mourning all I can suggest is pace yourself, fan depth has become an issue as well and the team needs you
So rumor has it tonight's game gets postponed to next week due to flash flood alerts. It sucks because Birnbaum will be gone next week. Oh well, if it happens, United just has to go all out in Toronto now.
Is this a rumor you just created - because if this happens with late warning (I'll be leaving to head there in about an hour and a half) I will hunt you down....... Seems lame to me to call anything tonight, tomorrow I would almost understand.
A poster on B&RU said that News Channel 8 was reporting that the game might be postponed because of the rain. I doubt they would postpone the game this close to kickoff, but I wouldn't be surprised.
Maybe News Chanel 8 thought we were the ********ing Nationals or something. They are new to this soccer thing - but you'd hope they'd talk to someone with the team before saying something like that. Unfortunately I have no faith in the FO communicating worth a damn, it's not in their wheelhouse at all.
This game is going to be cancelled. Going to start moderate but get really heavy and persistent for a while. Lots of thunder too.
Yeah, that's a toughy. I have trained hard since the first season, haven't had any injuries while drinking (knock on wood, I just patted my head!), although I did almost fall while jumping in the Barra because one of the seats was missing. I learned my lesson and I am always on the lookout for such tRumps!
My prediction is that a win against Columbus virtually guarantees a last spot (minimum) position in the playoffs.
Looked good second half. The first goal was well taken, set up well. Boswell had his best match in awhile. His passes is woeful, but he is what he is at this point. Rock solid defensively. So was DeLeon, also with the poor passing. I might even go Boswell for MOTM.
