lol to this day still see Arsenal fans pissed at how he was never given real chances. And always one of the wasted players from Arsenal perspective lists.
Overall I agree with the sentiment that Jogi Löw has botched the generational transition as far back as 2016, and our struggles now are in large part because we have had to essentially throw together a whole new squad that doesn't know how to play together. But Jogi is now tasked with the transition, much to our chagrin, and a big reason why we're struggling right now is because we are in an all-out transition. I hope people will be patient with the players as we struggle through them getting chemistry and growing together.
not a lot of time left for that though, Euros are this Summer, time is ticking. and when players keep being injured, kind of throws wrenches in attempts at chemistry.
Phenomenally well written...also glad to see many NT fans are active in the forum in this difficult time
BILD headline: Why are we playing so bad, Jogi? #NIRGER pic.twitter.com/a8PLRXAbqq— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) September 9, 2019 Joachim Löw: We were under a lot of pressure today and were made to solve a number of problems. Northern Ireland were courageous and pressed high up the pitch. Our positional play was a little off in the first half, but we improved after the break and started to play more vertically. We’re in a learning phase and the players still need to kick on to make sure that we don’t end up throwing a game like that away. Serge Gnabry has become a pivotal player for us. He can hold up the ball in attack and bring other players into the game. His technical ability is right up there.
why tah replaced Ginter at 40", was he playing badly or something ? Germany need Rudiger and Hummels back, these 2 guys are not good enough.
When was the last time the team actually played well for a whole match? Most matches I can remember have either been good for 45 minutes, mediocre or just pretty terrible. Second half of this game was better, but tbh this was the minimum expected, most N. Ireland players are the equivalent of 2. Liga standard. Why are we playing so badly? is a question the DFB should be asking.
To be fair, Northern Ireland is probably a top 40-50 National Team in the world. They play together and they play organized defence. They got to the last 16 in the 2016 EUROs. This isn't necessarily San Marino we're talking about.
Pretty lucky not to go a goal or 2 down in the first half Created lots of chances in the 2nd half in an improved performance. I thought the team looked much more effective with Havertz on for Werner Havertz helps out in wide midfield, nearly scored within mins of coming on, and assisted the second goal.
Very interesting if you click on the link below you can go into each players individual stats... Huge difference between Werner and Genarby
I wish he could show some of his RBL form for Germany. His hattrick v Gladbach the other week was brilliant. At his best his pace and directness can be a useful weapon.
