what a complete and utter disgrace. Worst German result at the WC since 1938.

I've been saying for over a year that Germany has tons of issues. Between the dumb neverending possession to our attack going absolutely nowhere. On top of that the dfb is a farce, whole system is shit, including shit coaching on every level. Post CC win, we have been terrible result wise on every level of the NT from U16-seniors.

it's worse that the CC team played better football than the WC18 team, lol and were more balanced. Mostly by a bunch of kids.

It's time to fire Low's ass and hire someone else. France in 2002, Italy in 2010, Spain in 2014 and Germany in 2018, all showing that taking the core winning group to the next WC and trying to use those guys is a recipe for disaster.

Germany still has talented players whether at the WC or guys left out. And we are still producing tons of talented youth players. We just need to be able to use them properly.

with the need of a new coach. Players needing axing/retirement, we need a reboot.

We could end up seeing a Germany in transition for the next couple of tournaments.

    Thoughts?

We got found out already at the EURO 2012. The vulnerable high defensive line is an invitation letter to other teams and this WC the invitation was accepted. We need to drop the Spain 2010 style of play. Possession focus is dead.

Low was the root of all of that. He should have retired, seems like he wanted to win that elusive Euro, which is why he stayed on. Had he won that, he could have left earlier. Should have left post WC14 after winning, now his legacy is destroyed.

no team should be constantly playing the same, you need to evolve.

next coach seriously needs to be a good tactician.

Fire Jogi. Retire Khedira, Müller, Gomez, Toni & Draxler*

Hire a new coach who isn't afraid of playing the youth in a 4-3-3/4-3-1-2 or a 3-4-1-2/3-4-3/3-1-4-2; and select from the following:

FW: Werner, Stindl, Füllkrug, Uth, Arp, Selke
W: Sane, Brandt, Reus, Philipp, Gnabry,
AM: *Özil*, Havertz, Götze, Dahoud, Gundogan, Amiri, Goretzka
DM: Geiger, Weigl, Meyer, Maier, Kramer
FB: Kimmich, Klostermann, Henrichs, Weiser, Hector, Itter
    CB: *Boateng* / *Hummels* / Süle / Vogt / Tah / Kehrer / Kempf
GK: *Neuer* / ter Stegen / doesn't matter

    Ideal first 11:
    Brandt - Werner - Sane
    Havertz - Dahoud
    Geiger
    Henrichs - Mats/Süle - Boa/Süle - Kimmich
    Neuer/ter Stegen

    Werner - Brandt
    Sane - Havertz - Dahoud - Kimmich
    Geiger
    Mats** - Süle - Boa**
    Neuer/ter Stegen

    **Vogt / Tah / Kehrer / Hector

*...and maybe Mesut, Boa, Mats & Manu.
-Ozil isn't done yet like those 5 but it would be hard to blame him for being sick of the shit he gets when he's one of the only attackers we have who tracks back, drops deep to do the midfield's job, or can actually deliver a killer ball in a crowded final third...as he did on a few occasions today that should have been buried...
-It could also be time for Manu to pass the reigns to MAtS as well, although if Neuer is hands down the best keeper in the world again by the winter it'll be hard not to keep him in the job for as long as he wants.
-Similarly Boateng & Hummels clearly still have it, even if Hummels was awful in the opener against Mexico, but it would probably be best if one of them retires to make space for new blood.

You can still bring a core of wc winners, but they need to be performing well. Many of ours weren’t for club or country.

Özil, Müller, Kroos, Khedira, Neuer, and more had very poor seasons since the wc.

Some should have been cut, others bench players.

We are in for a new dark age i feel. The next generation is way weaker than the wc winning one. This reminds me of 98. The end of an era of success but no good youth prospects. bL sides full of foreign talent an our youth national teams are failing at all levels.

    This.

At least we got rid of that effing World Champion stigma. Maybe we can start having a levelheaded approach to where we stand.

Depends on the next coach. The 97ers & 98ers suck, but the 95ers & 96ers who should've been the backbone of this team are great, the 99ers are strong and the 2000 & 2001 born kids look (at this point) like they could challenge the 95ers & 96ers in time.

I don’t see it. They have all been huge failures at youth nt level. And most cant get regular time in the bl.

we should let Khedira, Ozil, and Muller go, they did nothing all WC.

one good thing about getting a new coach is that we should finally be able to axe Draxler and hopefully no more favoritism.

who cares about the UEFA Nations League, we should use that to integrate new players and as many as possible.

I think the 99-onwards have a lot of potential, only issue is that most seem more likely to be ready by 2022 WC. I do think the foreign talent thing is a issue, way to block German players. It's even worse when too many clubs are filled with foreign players and too many German clubs based on transfer rumors/reports seem all foreign interest with very little German interest.

that's because of terrible coaching, 99-00-01 all underperformed because of the coaches but the talent is there. 97-98 were terrible but have a decent amount of talent but not enough to make a great team.

they can't get any playing time because of the foreign issue. When clubs pour millions to buy foreign youth players or to buy mediocre players instead of playing from within. Some even take players with 1 season over youth ones, lol. Some clubs even offer players contracts while they have 0 intention on playing them anytime soon.

German clubs/1BL are becoming more and more interested in quick results and global marketing over their own domestic product.

    lol

Oliver Bierhoff: "Everyone is deeply disappointed. It's not the time for any analysis. Joachim Löw has just signed a new contract. I assume that he will stay and we will attack the next challenges again"

Joachim Löw: "Congratulations to Korea for the win, for Sweden and Mexico for the qualification. It's difficult to explain. The way we played we didn't deserve to go through" "I'm absolutely responsible for what happened. Whether I will continue? I don't know. It's early to say" "I think we prepared well for the tournament. We were ready and we knew that all teams will be desperate to beat us, but we haven't showed for it"

Löw on his future: "I can't tell you now. I need a few hours. I'm still shocked"

    oh stfu Draxler,
Julian Draxler: "I think Joachim Löw is still the right coach for us"

it's more than that, part of that is because of the weaker 97-98 guys who are 20-21 and no longer youth levels in the German leagues. Think about it 99-onwards are kids who are playing U19 level, most clubs don't really promote during the season, so they stay in U19 all season. And most 95-96 are starters in their clubs.

marketing plays a huge role with the foreign obsession, same with the whole wanting results as quick as possible. You know what also doesn't help German NT it's when a handful of German clubs hog too many good German players. So other clubs go for foreign while those same German players end up hurting each other's prospects. As clubs don't promote more than 3 per year and the rest get dumped.

Huh? the 96ers won the U21s just a year ago and the ones that matter for the senior NT are all either significant players for their teams already or are Dahoud, who suffered from coaching that made Jogi look almost competent.

While that post 98-wave isn't yet at the first team level, although some 99ers have started to break through already...Havertz & Maier already being regular starters, Maina being a regular in the rotation, Itter having started to get PT down the stretch last season...and many others are being pencilled into their clubs rotations for next year...D. Otto, Schreck, Akkaynak, Kübler, Dardai, Kade, etc

...and even a couple of 2000ers are already breaking through at the senior level...Evina's impressive debuts with Bayern, Arp having gotten some steady PT, Kühn joining Ajax's first team for this coming season, ditto Abouchabaka in Leipzig.

We should see more young germans breakthrough at the senior level this year than we have in the past few, and that trend should continue for the next few years.

Kovac actually seemed like he had 0 interest in German players to begin with. I sometimes think if he could he would have 0 Germans on his squad.

earlier during the season for awhile, Kovac was playing 0 German players in his XI.....

and the young German players there, like Stendera and Barkok he basically dumped both of them.

Draxler only saying this shit because he knows that a new coach would dump his ass.

and if Low has any dignity and pride for his country he would do the right thing and resign as I don't think the dfb have the balls to fire his ass.
