http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sco.../3645362/Irish-ace-could-play-for-States.html I think Randolph definitely deserves a shot if he's willing to suit up. Guzan hasn't played regularly for a few years now, Hahnemann is getting up there in age and we could always use a reliable guy between the stick. Timmy is pretty much camped in as #1 right now, but to blow off a guy like Randolph may be a mistake, given the drying up of our endless goalkeeper pool.
He can absolutely compete with Guzan and Hahnemann right now &, having just turned 24 in May, still has plenty of upside. Great news that he is very interested. How he's travelled under the USMNT radar for so long is beyond me.
I believe the reason why this is, is because he is a keeper and we manage to produce really good ones. So as scouts and fans we never really look for dual national keepers very often.
I'm a big Brad Guzan fan but the bottom line is Randolph is - and has been - getting regular games for over a year and is getting them now while Guzan isn't playing right now and didn't play most of last season, either. If Timmy is unavailable, I'd want the guy getting regular games to play.
Having played one game more than the Old Firm, 'Well are currently atop the SPL with 10 points as well.
Why is he even on yanks abroad? He isn't a yank and has already been dressed for an ireland friendly, but didn't play. Has he even hinted that he might switch?
Follow this: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2588749&postcount=1 The first three posts, at the beginning of the thread, pretty much explains it. Even though he will probably represent Ireland NT, some will want to track him here.
He said this summer he would consider playing for the US. The US also played two guys against Mexico on Wednesday that played in friendlies for other national teams. Also, even if he was cap tied with Ireland he would still be a yank abroad. I personally would be less interested in tracking him, but he would still meet the requirements for this forum.
Randolph and Motherwell got back to their winning ways today in a 4-2 road win against Dunfermline. Both Dunfermline goals were scored off deflections, and Randolph apparently didn't have much else to do.
Randolph and Motherwell fell 4-0 Celtic. The match report didn't blame him for any of the goals, but he did flap at a cross which resulted in a chance that had to be scrambled off the line. In addition Motherwell almost scored an own goal on a wayward back pass. Randolph also came up with a couple of saves.
Motherwell and Randolph lost at home to St. Johnstone today 3-0. The St. Johnstone goals were an own goal, a poor pass across from a defender across the defense that was intercepted, and a rebound off a Randolph save.
Randolph was called into action a couple times today picking up a shut out as Motherwell beat Aberdeen at home 1-0. He was also in goal midweek as Motherwell was eliminated fromt he league cup on penalties 7-6 after tying the game 2-2. Randolph saved one of the pks and made a couple of big stops during relegation.
