They deserve to be ridiculed after completely bungling the update and subsequent announcement of the severity of Lletget's injury. For me, that's shameful and inexcusable.
No. But management should consider this blunder in evaluating their performance. In the mean time, public ridicule will suffice.
Given management's failure to evaluate considerably more erroneous actions it would seem public ridicule will be the only ramification.
Anyone else get a kick out of the new PA Announcer being completely out of sync with the scoreboard operator for last night's player intros? It was funny until it just became a bit sad. Also - during the "Legends" ceremony he said Cobi played his entire professional career for LAG. Entire MLS career, sure. Entire career, nope. Legends night was pretty lame, but it was nice to see Landon and Ruiz, and glad to see they kept Pasadena "Pass Back" Pete off the field. Ruiz seemed to really embrace a return to the stadium and also officially announced his retirement last night.
Best that Pete was not there, as it would have been an embarrassment for him and the team. HOWEVER, do not let his management mis-steps cloud the fact that he was an integral part of some very good teams. The announcer was an embarrassment too. Where was the regular guy? And speaking of embarrassments, when I got back to my car I heard some of the post-game on Sirius XM hosted by none other than Christian Miles. Hadn't heard him in quite a while. He was as bad as I recall him being.
Watched the TFC v. ATL game today. Dan Gargan doing the color commentary. Letting him go was another bad management decision.
Yes. That Atlanta broadcast was 10 times better then ours. They are not even two months old and we are 20+ years old.
Given that we give the FO crap for this kind of thing, it's only fair that I point it out when one of the most commercially successful teams on the planet does it... This is Man United "official merchandise", a 4 DVD series debating the best XI of all time. Listed as one of the defensive candidates is one "Nernanja Vidic".
He often went by his nickname was "Naranja" Vidic because of his ability to sustain a delightful tan year-round in Manchester.
That is a fascinating error. Optically “rn” could be mistaken for “m” (it’s definitely not an “rn” combo btw), but was a deliberate entry rather then a fat-finger mistake. It’s absolute nightmare for anything other than an expert proof reader, the way our brain interprets words means the vast majority of people will auto-correct it in their head, especially Manchester United fans – so well spotted whoever caught it. As a proper noun/name if the spell checker did catch it you might well ignore it since spell checkers so often mark proper names as errors we’re conditioned to ignore them.
I caught it. That's my DVD set, captured with my outdated original HTC One, whose regular camera is in such bad shape that I had to use the "selfie" function to get a readable pic, hence part of my head being in-shot. The "rn" looking like an "m" certainly makes sense though. Also on the box is Van Nistelrooy spelled with one "o". However, there are apparently a couple of acceptable spellings of his name ("Van Nistelrooij" is the proper Dutch spelling), so I don't know if that one's valid.
It’s funny I had to zoom in to make sure it wasn’t a printing error, but the aperture of the “r” is much larger than the what it would have been on an “m”.
I guess this must be funny. I have no idea who we are talking about - a misprint on a nickname or what?
I think a spelling error on the name of some washed-up Euro guy who plays in one of those retirement leagues over there....
I agree that #soccer is #fun. But, that marketing theme, meme, scheme, whatevs is kinda unthrilling and unsportslike to me. Who is that supposed to speak to?
The marketing team. They operate under the impression they are the target audience. It's a common & fatal flaw in amateurs who only understand the surface level of the industry they work in.
United' marketing team having about as good a year as the actual team. Carrick's name misspelled on his testimonial team sheet. http://www.espnfc.us/blog/the-toe-p...sspelled-on-teamsheet-for-his-own-testimonial
