I'm annoyed by the lack of keeping their lead though. if they can find one more without time to concede, i'll be happier!
Oh FFS. Yeah. As well as they're playing, I don't think they deserve more than one point out of this. They can't defend consistently.
And now we’re adrift by 4 with a game in hand. Doneski for the playoffs if we can’t beat Montreal next.
Defense needs a leader. Birnbaum isn't one. Neither is Bill...yet. We also need that person to be a full time lock starter. Too bad the roster deadline passed. Now we need to try and outscore people because if we get to the playoffs we are going to pay. james
Yes and no. Right now, it's Montreal that we have to outrun to make the playoffs. With other matches, we can hope that Montreal stumbles if we do. But playing Montreal straight up, that's not the case. It's a 6 point swing game.
Hamid is going to need therapy to make the dreams of BWP stop. It was a very exciting match and despite the failure to garner 3 points it's what they need to fill the rest of the seats. No excuses particularly on a relatively nice weather afternoon weekend match. "Lying" MLS reported 18661 and even inflated above the real number of attendees or seats sold it's a only around 95%. They need 100% to make the "create a shortage so people pay more" scheme work. Just an observation, DCU is Rooney's team now. Benny is superfluous.
I think you are correct, He's coaching on the pitch during games, and I doubt he changes during practices.
I'd say Ashton doesn't matter. I'm guessing that Rooney respects Ben enough to keep him part of the conversation. He isn't a prima donna. Olsen still has the job of managing the team. The tactics are all Rooney. Also - Rooney has turned Lucho into the player we've all thought he could be. No one has been able to do that up until now. Hopefully he keeps up the effort. I've never seen him so engaged without being reckless. James
How come no Opare today? Others with more technical knowledge can evaluate our performance playing three back, and Brilliant's performance, but the fact is that we're back to leaking goals, which wasn't happening after Opare began starting. Fisher is a puzzle to evaluate. He's great going forward but too erratic actually playing defense. No matter how brilliant BWP is, allowing him to kick it through your legs into goal isn't exusable. And Fisher shouldn't have allowed the cross on the winning goal. From about 6 feet from the endline the RB guy somehow gained 2 -3 feet on Fisher for the cross. It was an obvious mistake by Bill on the first goal, but also an outstanding play by BWP to take advantage. That all said, I think this is what we all hoped for with Rooney and the new stadium. We went toe to toe with one of the best clubs in the league and left them thankful for a draw after an exciting match.
I guess that depends on your take on the responsibilities of command. I see the boss as the boss and if he delegates authority/responsibility to an incompetent that makes him incompetent too.
Rooney may actually be the most impactful MLS signing this season. DC and the LaLaGals were both dumpster fires. Even with Zlatan they are still a dumpster fire. We on the other hand are on a (mostly) upward trajectory since the Rooney signing. James
