Kosovo already have a lead on England.... doubt they can hold it for 88 minutes England equalized 8 minutes later.
Had a good first 15 minutes but have since completely run out of ideas. Now Montenegro is going direct and our defense is struggling like always
How many headers does Soucek need before he scores? Twice he was all alone in the box with a free header and put it way wide.
Kosovo scored one of the worst own-goals I've ever seen, so I think it is safe to say any chance of a result today is over for them. We seem to be upping the tempo and actually have the best chances so far, but no finish yet.
Good first 15 minutes and a good final 5ish minutes. Everything in between was just awful. I only noticed Schick on the build up to that Darida chance, otherwise he's been completely taken out of the game. Soucek has been so poor. Masopust offers nothing. Just isn't good enough at this level. Thankfully for Vaclik this is still level.
I feel like Montenegro is bad enough that we can scrap this out, but overall we looked very out of sync in attack are mostly getting chances from set pieces. Schick has been largely invisible, and that's a problem since nobody else on this squad is scoring goals. I do think we started marking them further up field in response to our poor back-line performance, and that helped us regain control a bit towards the end of the half.
Not the obvious sub, but hard to argue with taking Suchy off after his last 135 minutes... Would rather see Simic though, Brabec is a bit soft for this level.
I will say that for all his limits, Masopust is strangely good at half-volleys off corners. Scored a somewhat similar (though much further out) goal in the Champions League playoff
Kosovo scored 2 quick goals against England but are still down 5-3. They are definitely a tenacious team though.
We will win this crucial result due to our set-piece performance today, but I still find aspects of Silhavy's player selection and sub strategy very odd... for example he subbed Schick off early in a competitive match where he produced a goal, but is leaving him on in a match where he is completely invisible. He also brought on Kopic for Masopust after we took a comfortable lead even the the former is more offensively focused.
While Kosovo is the biggest match we can't overlook Bulgaria on the road. We also should do our best not to be stupid against England, make that match as boring as possible because we can't keep up with them in an open game.
I'm hoping England will field a back up team against us. The group is their's already. Would be a good opportunity for them to field some subs/reserves.
