Has anyone here swapped a SG sole plate with a fg one. Being bold and going for it. Opinions are welcomed

    Do you even Merriam-Webster

I believe there were some sole plate transplants posted in past years in this thread. I thought a guy in Brasil was posting some excellent before and afters of his or a friends but I can't seem to find them now.

Yeah but you have to keep in mind that dyes and paints are meant for leather. Once you properly prep your boots and remove the factory finish, painting with leather paint or dyes should hold. Just remember that the SL's are synthetic. I've blacked out all my ctrs and they were synthetic, helded up for the most part, plus majority of the color is already black so you should be golden

Yeah I did the same when the first time blacked out my boots. As long as you prep and take your time, they should come out good. Don't mind me asking, what are using?

Finished the blackout on my magista teal/orange red dots. Came out Ok for first try. In process of tidying up around the base. Bare in mind these where cheap and not used so was more experiment than anything :)
