Lots of raw talent in Cuba. If they can keep getting more interest in it they'll continue producing some good individuals and could very well qualify for a WC in the future.

More than 2x the population of CR and 3x that of Panama...3.5x more than Uruguay, so, it could happen.

I personally believe Panama got to where they qare today because many of their players went to Colombia to learn their trade. They also had Colombian coaches influence their play and tactics.
Costa Rica got their best result in 2014 ever with a Colombian coach. They also allow their players to go to Europe and other Leagues around the world to grow.

If Cuba can allow their players to go abroad and bring in a coach from a good soccer nation then they can improve immensely.
Until then they will float around mediocrity.

Could it be possible that as a result of many good Cuban players, they can make the Cuban league itself a better league?

But yeah, it sucks that Cubans can't play abroad.

PS. Pinto is now coaching Honduras (dunno why he left Costa Rica tbh), so we'll see how Honduras goes...
