Coach Grant built an attractive Spring schedule that includes the Mexican U17 MNT and professional Pachuca FC and the national champion Stanford. https://twitter.com/csubathletics/status/829398022857437184 I hope they will be streamed. Wednesday, Mar. 1 Mexico U-17 7 p.m. Friday, Mar.10 @UC Santa Barbara 7 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 25 Pachuca FC 7 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 1 California Baptist 1 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 22 Stanford 7 p.m.
I guess that he was maybe forced by the rare available days of the Mexico U17 team, after he already had a commitment with UCSB. The silver lining is that the kids get more used to play close games, like it happens too often during the official season with its crazy schedule.
Tomorrow 1st March, 7 PM PT, match vs. Mexico U17. The kids are excited (their coaches as well). What we are playing for tomorrow night. United we stand - Estamos Unidos pic.twitter.com/E4jzJRpJoT— CSUB MEN'S SOCCER (@csub_msoccer) February 28, 2017 Unfortunately, it seems it will not be video streamed.
The game against Mexico U17 gives a good visibility opportunity. The Runners seem to take it, via a local campaign, including this media event: #CSUBmsoc: @csub_football head coach Richie Grant at the podium discussing the Mexico U-17 match #all runners #WACmsoc pic.twitter.com/07l50O0i47— CSUB ATHLETICS (@CSUBAthletics) February 28, 2017 I would have loved to watch it this night at 4 am in the cold Europe, in front of the computer screen with blankets on our shoulders. Too bad it is not streamed. I hope they will attract a large passionate crowd.
CSUB win against Mexico U17. 2-2 after regular time. 4-1 in PKs. #CSUBmsoc: @csub_football wins in PK's 4-1! #allrunners #WACmsoc pic.twitter.com/hFaRg1Ex3y— CSUB ATHLETICS (@CSUBAthletics) March 2, 2017

MrBrowncowsoccer: "20170301 CSUB Men Soccer v Mexico U17 Highlights" Nothing like a packed house for a spring friendly. ...very good footage. ...makes me eager for the season. ...wish I could catch the Lobos vs. SMU match in Dallas Saturday. Here are highlights courtesy of youtube:
Hank congratulations! You found it before me (I am jealous...). Beyond the win, what is great is that they successfully organized an international event: big crowd, fun ambiance, media coverage, international exposure, a lot of social media activity etc... Good for the Runners, good for Bakersfield, good for our college football community. Let's hope to see more of these events everywhere.
A nice TV report by the local network about the packed house (over 2'000). From the stands with fun fans' words. A successful event, we want to see more of them Some great news coverage of our game vs Mexico https://t.co/aLtbfLnfrA— CSUB MEN'S SOCCER (@csub_msoccer) March 3, 2017
Another TV report! About the impact on the community. My heart feels so warm watching them knowing my son ha taken part of the event.
This evening CSUB @ UCSB (or is it UBCS @ BSCU?). I do not know whether it is streamed. And I saw both 6 and 7 PM PT. So finally I just know a little.....
Another big event for the Runners.
CSUB @ UCSB: 1-1. So far very little news. Nothing on tweeter feeds... Only CSUB starting line up: CSUB Mens V University California Santa Barbara Teamsheets announced via @ClubApp pic.twitter.com/Jax6OHiBfg— CSUB MEN'S SOCCER (@csub_msoccer) March 11, 2017
CSUB posted video ads on several media about the 25th March game against Pachuca U20. They again target a full house! A little advertising for the lads and our program https://t.co/EDWdZj6yWY https://t.co/xEuxmDXinH https://t.co/IN1Y4pIAB8— CSUB MEN'S SOCCER (@csub_msoccer) March 15, 2017
CSUB hosts Pachuca U20. Let's hope they meet the same successful organisation and result as the one with the Mexican U17 MNT. #CSUBmsoc: @csub_football hosts Pachuca Saturday Nighthttps://t.co/4SrBxUgqdn #allrunners #WACmsoc— CSUB ATHLETICS (@CSUBAthletics) March 23, 2017
CSUB tried to rally to offset a 2-1 score, but run out of time. According to both coaches' interviews it was a well fought game. Not really friendly: 10 yellow cards! Report of the match with some words from the coaches: http://www.bakersfield.com/sports/r...cle_473b035e-7287-56d0-bede-273d0e360a73.html It was not a full house in terms of fans.In the article they mention over 1'000: I hope to be able to see the official figures. Not bad anyway, however I guess they were hoping for a larger audience. CSUB starting line up in this tweet: CSUB Mens V Pachuca Teamsheets announced via @ClubApp pic.twitter.com/snly2skwZm— CSUB MEN'S SOCCER (@csub_msoccer) March 25, 2017
The ‘Runners will play future WAC opponent California Baptist on (Apr. 1). At 1pm PT. Welcome to the newbies!
The Spring season is finished, however the Runners organise a last fund raising event.A quizz game. Looks cool. They hope to get 10k to put some well needed oil in the machine. http://www.bakersfield.com/entertai...cle_f5365cc7-cea4-5dfc-a715-77dc4d9cb170.html
Runners open season with two matches this weekend https://t.co/v4wgudNAo1— Famille Charron (@FamilleCharron) August 25, 2017 The first game against UC Riverside - 7 PM PT - is streamed on the WAC site at: http://wacsports.com/watch/?Live=343 Then they face Pacific Sunday in Stockton, at 6 PM PT. Again, this year we have a very very young team. It looks like the 2017 season performance will be similar to the 2016 one. The returners must be bold and leverage their short experience.
CSUB win 2-0 against UC Riverside. Each team dominated one half. CSUB scored twice in the first 45'. Then UCR put a lot of pressure, but were inefficient in the 2nd half. Mainly due to a great resolute defense by CSUB: without being biased, may I highlight that my Jérémie was outstanding alongside their new goal-keeper who looks a pretty good GK and who saved a PK in the 1st half: Detre Bell from Bermuda is a transfer from UConn. Good start by the Runners to be confirmed against stronger teams and especially to see whether they can control two halves. Now it is 6 AM and I go to bed for a couple of deserved hours of sleep.....
Oops, the Runners lost their second game 5-2 against Pacific. Did not see the match, but it seemed clear that Pacific is continuing on their good 2016 season. The article giving the match details: http://www.gorunners.com//ViewArticle.dbml?SPID=6318&DB_OEM_ID=13300&ATCLID=211663662
Roadrunners Head North for Labor Day week end CSUB prepares for two road games in Northern California this weekend. http://www.gorunners.com/news/2017/8/30/mens-soccer-roadrunners-head-north-for-labor-day.aspx This evening game @ Sacramento State: 5 PM PT. Video stream available on Big West network: http://bigwest.sidearmstreaming.com/watch/?Live=49 UC Davis host the Roadrunners on Sunday at 4 P.M. The game will be also on the Big West TV. The Runners need to bounce back from the heavy defeat against Pacific.
Question: how do we score? Obvious response? By shooting towards the goals. CSUB Runners win in OT 1-0 against Sacramento State, goal by CSUB Nguyen, Henry, Assist by Akselvoll, Marius. (a beautiful volley, the only highlight of the game) To give an idea of the quality of the game: Shots: 5-9 (advantage SAC) SOG: 2-2, yes you read well 2-2...... This game was a purge (as we say in French). Nothing to report, both teams were poor. We even can say that the defenses did not have to be good as the midfielders and forwards were so technically limited. The ones to congratulate are the parents who stay awake to watch until the end (4.30 AM). We really love our kids.....
So this evening the Runners against UC Davis at 4PM (PT). Streamed on the Big West TV. Which CSUB will turn up? Inconsistency is the trade mark of (very) young teams. We can hope that their OT win against SAC will boost their confidence, so that they develop a better game. Last year they lost all their OTs....
