Looks like the CSL has continuing with their use of foreign referees for "big" games. Clattenburg was hired as a full time ref, so he had a center and the only other foreign center was Mazic from Serbia. All of the ARs and 4ths were Chinese.
This came up in the UEFA thread. Mazic is a full-time referee there now. CSL also hired three Chinese officials as full-time. Mazic had a very tough go of it in his first match. It's also unclear as to whether or not his UEFA season is over. He may still have a (final?) match next week given the Serbian FA allegedly received confirmation of an appointment before he took the role in China.
It will be interesting to see how soon the league/country in which a referee works is separated from his nationality as far as international assignments - similar to players. With leagues (meaning $$) pulling top referees, I think there will soon be pressure to allow top refs to work leagues in other countries yet still maintain eligibility for international soccer. In some ways, might this be a boon for FIFA referees from lower-level soccer countries having the ability to apply to and work in higher-level soccer countries?
First Foreign Ref this season (other than two mentioned above) in CSL today was Singaporean Center BIN JAHARI for the Shanghai SIPG vs Guangzhou R&F match.
For both Weeks 9 (May 10-12) and Week 10 (May 17-19) BARREIRO (AUS) and ARDELEANU (CZE) had CSL centers.
Week 11 (May 26): AHMS (AUS) for Shandong Luneng vs Guangzhou R&F and CONGER (NZL) for the biggest match of the season so far between Shanghai SIPG and Beijing Guoan (this was the match where Conger "took out" a player who ran into him and his teammate motioned for Conger to get a card)
Week 22 (August 11 for Beijing Guoan vs Guangzhou Evergrande, which is one of the most important games of the season): CONGER (NZL)
Also, the CFA has announced that there will be an increase in foreign referee assignments for the final 3rd of the season.
Week 22 (Week 22 above was actually 23) (August 14): SOARES DIAS (POR) for Beijing Renhe vs Hebei and CONGER (NZL) for Shenzhen vs Guangzhou R&F
CFA Cup Semifinals: August 19 for Dalian Yifang vs Shanghai Shenhua: BIN JAHARI (SIN) August 20 for Shanghai SIPG vs Shandong Luneng: CONGER (NZL)
Week 24 (September 14 for Guangzhou R&F vs Tianjin Tainhai): Center BLOM (NED) with AR2 GOOSENS (NED) -- note- this is the first time a foreign AR has been used this season
Week 25: September 21 for Dalian vs Shenzhen: Center BLOM (NED) with AR1 GOOSENS (NED) September 22 for Tianjin Tianhai vs Beijing Guoan: SATO (JPN)
Week 26: October 19 for Beijing Guoan vs Shanghai SIPG:SKOMINA (SVN) October 20 for Tianjin vs Beijing Renhe: IIDA (JPN)
It is actually not the CFA Cup final (I couldn't edit my post any more), but a huge game between the top 2 teams in the table that are separated by 1 point with 3 games remaining (Guangzhou Evergrande and Shanghai SIPG).
