We didn't need Pogba when we have this beast on the bench. Really showing up with Modric missing. His forward runs are a treat to watch. Benitez was the worst mistake we made in recent years but I thank him for bringing us Mateo.
He's turning out to be the way we all hoped he would. Having a good season so far, but most of all showing everything that looked promising while fixing a lot of things that were not looking too good.
Great game from him today, he's got a very nice playing style that fits well in our team. Hopefully he stays consistent with it.
He was really good today... has been so for a while now. I am really glad we didnt give up on him too quickly.
He just needs to improve his positioning and stop with the damn flicks. Defensively he is still suspect, but going forward he is tough to handle for the opposition because of that burst. Just needs to play more and round out his game (improve defensive mentality, and when playing forward shoot more) and dude will slot in for Modric when we need him to. Good game today.
Amidst the chaos today I thought he had a good attacking game today as well, not so good on the defensive side though, nice bit of vision and skill in the part he played in that Benz goal was one example
In the first goal he kind of gave up. He was running and covering lots of ground but the top 4 didnt help much, which meant double the job for him and Kroos. They were exhausted.
