Another 5 goals for Ronaldo this week in his national colours, but the inevitable criticisms still remain with respect to the calibre of opponents he scores against. Andorra and the Faroe Islands are hardly world-beaters, but you still don't see other players filling their boots like he does. It's also unfair to ignore how integral CR7 was in some of the bigger games in recent years.

The Stats Zone have done some interesting analyses on his international career - http://www.thestatszone.com/articles/cristiano-ronaldos-international-goalscoring-record

Lots of goals against weaker opposition, but it's hardly Ronaldo's fault that there are so many 'weaker' teams in European football.

The overall win ratio in his 134 matches is 59% but this jumps to 82.6% in the 46 matches when he has scored. When he does not score, Portugal’s win ratio drops to just 46.6%.

    That stat is just insane!

The only dent on his international legacy Is the world cup he has one good tournament (06)one bad(2010) and one injured(2014)

having said this he is an all time euro championship legend with solid performances in 3 of the 4 championships he has partaken in.
nearly 70 international goals for a player who has played the vast majority of his NT career as a wide player is nothing less than astonishing.

Note:Cristiano is the first player in the history of the game to be criticised so harsly for scoring against poor teams despite this he has scored more big goals against big teams than anyone in champions league history (including the so called ultimate big game player Lionel Messi)
more el classico goals than anyone since he arrived in Spain
I could list statistics of many other big match performances and goals he has had(or scored) but it would simply be pointless, people have it in their heads that c.Ronaldo only trashes small teams and no amount of proof would convince them otherwise.

put Pele/r9/Romario next to postiga and nani for the vast majority of their international careers and I doubt they would even score 50 international goals.
What many fail to realise is a player to an extent is only as good as his teammates allow him to.
    Imagine Maradona born in Ecuador
    Pele in Bolivia
    Cruyff in Malta
Can anyone tell me with a straight face that would've still managed to perform so phenomenally at the world cup?
