MLS Regular Season Match Columbus Crew FC vs Seattle Sounders FC Wednesday, May 31 07:30 PM Mapfre Stadium TV: CW Columbus / Spectrum Sports / BCSN2 (Spectrum 311/1311, AT&T 005/1005, WOW! 005/205, DirecTV 053/902, Dish 053/7205, Antenna 53.1) Again, sorry for the tardiness but my effort is equivalent to seemingly half the team at the moment so .... yeah ...
Where will you tell your grandchildren you were when the first annual Crew Pups on the Pitch inspired a city, and turned around Columbus Crew's championship 2017 season?
How does that work, anyway? Are the dogs supposed to sit at their owner's feet in the stands? Is there a special section for the promotion?
Maybe the pups will get a seat to sit in,then they will be counted as butts in the seats! Then maybe we will have a sellout crowd!
I'm a cat guy. I'll bring my cat because I could use a good laugh. So if we sell 2,000 more seats to dogs. We should definitely do once again for cats. My new goal in life is just a Nordecke with cats wandering around. But they just end up living there. It makes sense.
Im all for dogs being allowed places but please dont show it off on tv for all of Seattle to see....you know they will though.
Andrew Erickson wrote something that I had to check to make sure it was accurate. Starting with this game against Seattle we have 9 (NINE!!!) straight games against teams currently below the red line. Seattle, Colorado, Atlanta (2x), Montreal, Minnesota, Philadelphia (2x), and RSL. 4 at home 5 on the road. Now maybe at some point in this run, one of those teams is above the red line, but currently they are all below. Of these teams only Atlanta has a higher points per game than us at the moment. Nobody else is higher than 1.23 ppg. I'm sure this has happened at some point before in league history, but that seems absolutely crazy to me. Talk about an opportunity. Granted Seattle is defending champs, and Atlanta may be the best expansion side since Chicago Fire's first year, but points are here for the taking. 27 available points. Let's, put a modest goal of say 18 points on that. That would put us at 37 points after 23 games. 1.61 ppg, which should have us hovering in that 3rd or 4th spot in the East heading into the final third of the season with some actual confidence and wind in our sails. This should be doable. Granted Seattle is way better than their record, and Colorado is never an easy place to play...but it would be nice to start righting the ship now.
For those wondering, the Pups and their owners will be in a special section. As a season ticket holder I was offered a chance to bring a dog for $10 and lose the right to sit in my paid for midfield seat to move to this special section. If I had a dog, I wouldn't do that. I wonder if selling a second seat to the same person would count as increased attendance though?
Similar questions used to come up all the time back in the days of the "unlimited exchange policy" or whatever it was called. Assumedly, they'd count the dog as one, but not count the human, since the human is just swapping a seat for another one.
I had a great cat..trained her like a dog..she was amazing..took her to Metro parks..she was a rescue...my x wife found her near death as a kitten..best thing she ever did was to put that kitten in her pocket and bring her home
Haha but it is so so very interesting.. Yeah my cat is like a dog follows me incessantly and stares at me all day. And if you say Meow Mix dude runs, seriously trots from one side of the house to food bowl. Recognizes "Meow Mix" even more than his name, like if you say it will turn his head and look at you like "what's that?" lol. Can suck down those wet pouches, classy meals in like 4 minutes. But, decided to get into the whole dog thing on my wanted lineup: I'm not saying that Raitala or Finlay's play was perfect. But, for some reason we seemed to win more with this lineup together. So simple. Go back to it. http://www.crewture.net/2017/05/just-do-it-on-field.html
No Dempsey, Morris, or Bruin for this one. Torres and Alonso questionable. I'll be interested to see, especially on a short week, if Seattle goes with the "rest players outside of conference" mindset that Toronto and Dallas have seemed to employ more in recent weeks. With a game against Houston at the weekend, I wouldn't be surprised to see Seattle view that as more important since they are chasing Houston. We've already lost two and drawn one at home. Anything less than 3 points here, despite Seattle's quality, would be very disappointing.
