I had their Oktoberfest a few weeks ago and found it underwhelming. Is there a brew they have that you recommend?
I've not been there in a few weeks, and their beers change over a lot. They have a 'nitro blonde stout' brewed with coffee and cocoa nibs that's delicious. I think they do a good job of their slightly maltier, English-style ales. Not sure how accurate their website is no, but they seem to be pouring an English mild that I've had before and really liked. As I recall, their brown ale is solid. Last winter I had an imperial stout there that was terrific. I had their Oktoberfest and thought it was okay, but there are a lot of really good O-fests on the market now. Anyway, Growl is my usual sport in Clintonville.
Forecast tonight is 38 degrees at kickoff. Dropping 2-3 degrees by the final whistle. Winds die down to almost nothing by this evening, though. In other words, cold, but dry and not much wind to deal with.
Any other reports about tonight's ticket sales? By the way, separating the club's local staff from PSV, Greeley at al, I want to cut them some slack. They're in a horrible situation, and I'm impressed with the way the team has direct-marketed to its fan base about the game, arranged for trick or treating at the stadium and discount beers beforehand. I don't blame those people for what's happening to this team one bit. The Crew is their employer, their livelihood. I owe these people a few beers when this is all over, one way or another.
Yes, but my guy will probably never contact me again after my rather...um..direct text to him using a four letter term for fornication a whopping four times in a nine word message. In any case, a personal note: Mookie and I are pulling out of here in about an hour and will be at the game. I'll entertain high quality beer offers from anyone wishing to shake my hand or punch me in the face. Or both.
I concur. My guy has been very professional. PSV did a good job improving this area of their staff through the years. Which puzzles me how they could scr*w it up so much with corporate sales. Has to be owner arrogance.
I haven't had time to go through the whole thread so give me the TL;DR version of the tailgate for tonight. Bringing a few with me, what's the beer/food situation and who can I contribute to?
My $0.02. The topic of language has come up before, in other threads. We are going to be on national TV. There will be League execs and others in places of power watching. It does NOT present a favorable image of the fan base to use profanity like “F*** you Prec**t” pouring out of Nordecke. Vulgarity is not going to help our cause. It just makes us all look, well, stupid and ignorant, and bitter (not to say we aren ‘t bitter; I am very much so). Derogatory chants can be creative and clever. Even funny. That’s going to carry a lot more weight than f-bombs and even “you suck”. Stay classy, Columbus!
Who: Fans and friends; this is the main supporters groups' tailgate What: Tailgate + Trunk or Treat When: 5:30ish start (people will be there earlier), 7:15 march to the stadium Where: SE corner of Black & Gold and Korbel Food: Bring candy for Trunk or Treaters (or anyone); GCGBAG will be making walking tacos Drink: Land Grant will be giving away free beer because they're amazing, but bring some to drink/share Reminder: DO NOT PAY OR ACCEPT MONEY FOR ALCOHOL FROM A NON-VENDOR, it's illegal and cops can be dicks; giving away or accepting free beer is fine Why: Why the heck not?
score <- vector() for(i in 1:Crew games){ headers <- ifelse(JoshWilliams[i-1] = 1 goal, 0, 1) freekicks <- ifelse(Pipa[i-1] == en fuego, 1, 0) runofplay <- ifelse(Meramragemode[i-1] == YES, 1, 0) score [i,] <- sum(headers, freekicks, runofplay) } 3-0 Crew.
For any newbies trying to gauge the weather - In addition to the other good "dress extremely warm" advice - I will add: Think feet! Thick socks and tennis shoes will likely leave you very uncomfortable. If you tailgate at all, after 3 hours of 40 degrees - you will be happier with thick socks or multiple socks AND boots! But when we all stand for the entire match - that is also going to help! It's going to be awesome fun!! See you all there!!!
I'm getting prepped. Thick ski socks and hiking boots. Layers, layers, layers. Peel them off and I'm a walking add for Eddie Bauer First Ascent clothing.
