BOSTON (AP) --- The City of Champions ads another, some may say improbable, victory banner to the proverbial rafters as Sheep League side ZipSix complete the unthinkable feat of going from newly promoted side to Premiersheep Champions and Sheeporter Shield winners. Boston bars stayed open late into the night -- to 1:15 am in some places, to celebrate the win after the final standings were delayed until after 11 pm. All the Murphs and Sullys gathered at O'Flannaghan's and slurred on about how Brady's the GOAT and ZipSix is the SHEEP once again. Sales of Harpoon IPA were brisk. John Clem checked in on Untapped.
That would be me. I admit to being a Trekkie. From the start. I snuck to the top of the stairs the night of the first episode of TOS so I could watch, as it was a hour past my bedtime (I was 10). I suspect my parents knew.....
Man, after 16 seasons I finally made it to the big time! Started in Div 2 and lost a couple playoffs, dropped to Div 3 during an inactive season. Spent a season alone in the etheral Div4 jail (@jack sticker only the second person ever to be thusly "punished") and busted my ass climbing back out of the cellar to finally get a shot at the bigs. My goal now it's to simply avoid relegation. This has been the best week ever. Congratulations to @ZipSix and all other promotes and post-season other league quailfiers! And to all playoff contenders, good luck!
Hey. I wanted to take a few quick minutes to say thank you to @cleazer. I do not think in all my years on BS that I ever participated in Sheep League (clearly my loss). I am glad I jumped in this year. While it was difficult at times to think about what would be the popular answer, it was nonetheless very fun. Especially the social element with others (like @TownKrier). I looked forward to the texts each week after we submitted answers. Reminders. Telling each other that the others’ answers were stupid. Messages like yesterday’s And Countless banter. Thanks, cleazer for running this game. Even Tim ribbed me. After a set of answers came out, he said, “Chels, frugal was not a good answer. No one but you would say that word.” Very fun. Thanks folks. I look forward to more runs of Sheep League.
Congrats! After finally making it to the top flight last season, I just missed a Euro-baa League spot. That's loser talk! Why, yes. Yes it has!
Geeg ribbed me about chasm. We had a lot of fun teasing each other this season. Thanks again, cleazer, for running Sheep League. I owe you a beer. Probably more than one. As alike as Geeg and I are, I was surprised how different our answers were. That sort of shocked me at first. By the end of the season, I was more surprised when we had the same answer.
Talking with @beast01 , the holiday weeks absolutely kill him due to work so he wasn't even able to submit answers for either those two weeks. I believe that this is the first he is outside of Division 1. Here's to hoping as well that this isn't the last of the sheep for him. I'd put him on the Mt. Rushmore of Crew Sheep League with @DrunkandDisorderly and @ZipSix
