It's hands down in Alaska somewhere. Largest population of grizzlies in all of North America. Brown bears as well for the US. Plus they get Polar bears. CA has the biggest black bear pop.
I have not visited a whole lot of places, but I have had the pleasure of staying around Glacier. We went out one May/June to visit my brother who lives in Montana. Stayed at a ridiculously nice house (thanks parents). Well we visited Glacier on an unusually hot day. Gorgeous. Sun. I remember sunbathing out on a dock, looking up at the mountains, and admiring the contrast between my swimsuit tanning session and the snow on the mountaintops. What a sight.
