Copa Sudamericana 2016

Real Garcilaso got themselves a decent result in Quito. I'm surprised to be honest, they're in poor form and that first half there was about 4 one on ones. Real Garcilaso got lucky to only have been 2-1 down. As for Huancayo, stupid decision to go defensive when you probably could attack Anzoategui with 10 men and still win. Regardless though I'm sure they'll win at home. As for Garcilaso, that's one I can't call. Cusco is higher than Quito but Garcilaso have been poor in the league lately even at home. I can't count them in the next round yet. All they need is a 1-0 win but Aucas have what it takes to hold on or even win on the night.

As I type, Nacional have just scored the 5th goal away to Municipal. Honestly I would have called it a "normal result" with the 3-0, but this is just embarrassing now. I thought nothing could top our 3-0 loss at home to Emelec but Muni have topped it. Our league is beyond hopeless continentally. Cristal is our best chance of anything and they're bigger bottlers than any other team I've ever seen.

 

Ends 5-0. Another reality check for our football. A lot of our fans are very arrogant but every single year at continental level we just get embarrassed. Every year is embarrassment after embarrassment. Its even worse to see the provincial teams doing better than the Lima teams. Historically that's unheard of really (unless its Cienciano or Melgar).

I think this week confirmed that we have the worst league in South America, worse than Venezuela. Maybe some people had it confirmed before, but it shouldn't be in doubt now. Again, I think we have talent but we're missing so much in the director part of things.

 

I'm looking forward to the Emelec - Universitario game. If we score an early goal, I think we'll win on the night but I just hope we don't look for the goals like crazy. Its fine to try and secure an impossible qualification but we need to go around it in the right way.

I've seen some awful players here at Universitario, Giusti, Cris Martinez, German Alemanno, Braynner Garcia is the next on that list. What a car crash of a defender.

 

I don't know where you're at. I'm in South America so its not an issue for me.

 

From what I've seen from 2 games, I can't call this Emelec side contenders to win the whole thing. They're a mess. I can see them going as far as quarter finals given their possible route but the moment they take on an organized side they'll lose. The defence is terrible (Achillier is a clown) and the attack is painfully predictable playing purely on Mena's side.

As for us, all I'll say is Braynner Garcia is the worst defender I've ever seen.

 

With Miler Bolanos, I would have given you a chance. Now all I see is the same attack over and over and a lazy defence. Just be glad Braynner Garcia isn't on your team.
