Now, I know there other groups who deserve the "Group of Death" title more than our group but I don't think we are that far off from deserving that title . . . I believe that this impressive group is a "Group of Champions": Club Bolívar (2013 Clausura Bolivian League Champion)* Clube de Regatas do Flamengo (2013 Copa do Brasil Champion) Club Sport Emelec (2013 Year Long Ecuadorian League Champion) Club León F.C. (2013 Apertura Champion) *With one week remaining in the 2013 Apertura, Bolivar is leading by one point.
VERY tough group. Bolivar is the underdog. I hope we give a good showing, but you never know as shown in the past in the Libertadores.
I agree. I use to live about 2 hours away from Leon and it's just my luck that now, Leon is in the 1st Division and will host Bolivar next year. haha
Emelec and Flamengo to go through, I don't trust mexican teams in the libertadores although I was impressed with Leon in the liguilla.
So how do you "convince" David Beckham to do anything? He and Claure must really be tight. I say do it! Some old school Red Bulls/Rafa Márquez vs. LA Galaxy/David Beckham would be fun.
Some Bolivar fans from NY are thinking about taking a road trip for the Leon match in March. For those living in Leon, any advice on selecting a hotel and when/how to get tickets for the game?
por que? como clasifico el tal regatas? primera vez en copa libertadores, si tendran estadio adecuado?
Well, the Grêmio group is considered the "death group" because people consider Libertadores as a "different kind" of competition, that requires clubs to have experience in it... true or not, that´s why that group is considered as "death group", because all teams have ample Libertadores experience... and in theory, know "how to play" the Liberadores, have tradition in it. Grêmio - 2nd place Brazilian league 2014, 2 times Libertadores Champion Nacional Uruguay - 3 times Libertadores Champion Newell´s - twice Libertadores runners up, current Argentina champions Nacional Medellin - current Colombian champions, three times Libertadores champions...
"el tal Regatas"?? are you talking about Flamengo, Libertadores champions in 1981 and who plays at Maracanã?
You're wrong. Atlético Nacional win the Libertadores just once, in 1989. And for what we've seen until now, the group 6 was more unequal than the group 7.
I said that we're "not that far off" and I still think that; Shuren, lo que dijiste abajo es un buen punto . . .
