Actually it was Paulinho with the nice play and pass to Emerson. Good first half by Corinthians, they look like the better team so far.

Haha, they throwed a police helmet at Cássio, one red card and the lights of the stadium turned off. This match is getting really crazy.

Er, game-over. 1-o Corinthians in the first leg.

Will be tough to Santos score two goals on Pacaembu... =/

    Semifinal, ida:

A Boca vs Corinthians final could be a classic. I'm still not counting out Santos and U de Chile just yet though.

I wonder if Carlitos Tevez would show up for that one.

That's pretty much it for us. I never expected a victory the way we have been playing away from home, but I thought we would at least get a goal. The clean sheet and the two goal lead are a gap as big as a chasm against a side like Boca. Let's hope for a dignified match in Santiago, we can't afford to let this result to destroy team morale, we still have Colo-Colo to face...

So no surprises in the final. The best defences make will make it.

I wouldn't be so sure. La U will need to go all out on attack and take risks, but that's what they're built to do anyway, and they always play strong at home. The flip side is that Boca has been a great road team and they thrive against opponents that attack and leave space.

I do like where we stand, especially considering the way Boca played last night, but I think a lot will depend on who scores the first goal. If La U gets it then it's game on, but if Boca gets it then it's lights out.

Pretty much. We are resting starters against Colo-Colo and saving them for the Boca game... this could well result on defeats on both tournaments... :cautious:

La U is overwhelmed in terms of manpower as it is: there are not a whole lot of other options.

Looks like Boca will feature a mixed lineup tomorrow, playing some starters and resting others. Looks like Riquelme will play, but some of the others might get a break. We'll see.

Looks like Insaurralde got hurt during the loss to Arsenal and will not play in Chile. Matías Caruzzo will take his place. On the other hand, Clemente Rodriguez is ready to go and will replace Sanchez Miño. The rest of the team should be the same that played last week at La Bombonera.

LeBron winning a NBA title and Corinthians possibly winning the Libertadores. 2012 is the end.

    Go Boca/La U! :p
