In Colombia the winners of the first and second semester tournaments qualify as Colombia 1 and 2. The best team adding year-round points (and that is not one of the champions) is Colombia 3. Colombia 1 is Nacional as first semester champ and the winner between Caldas and Junior will be Colombia 2. If Caldas loses the final they will be Colombia 3, if they win (and become Colombia 2), my team, Millonarios will take its place as Colombia 3.

Lets just hope that whoever wins the 2012 edition is a team that has a defense good enough to represent the continent well.

ah, well if u are refering to the 4-0 beating Santos received from Barca,
it could very well been any other team in the world, doesn't really matter where from. They scored 3 against Real last, wknd, 3 against Milan also, and in both games could 've been more.
Last year Velez was the best team in the CL, so they were a bit unlucky not to have won it, although with them having lost 4 of their starting players things wouldn't have changed much against Barca also.

It's a pointless cup, if it wasn't for they money involved and I had a say in the matter, I would not bother sending my team there. Half the squad of the S.American champions is dismantled... it's ridiculous. Maybe there should be a special FIFA rule that allows Libertadores champions to loan their former players just for the World Club Cup... in a similar way that national teams do. That would make things a bit more interesting.

I know right? But then again, we now have cash to spend on more players... and then, look at our group:

    Grupo 8
    Universidad de Chile(CHI), Atlético Nacional(COL), Godoy Cruz(ARG), Peñarol(URU)/Caracas(VEN)

Even without Vargas I think we have a chance of getting out. I think people underestimate the teamwork involved. Our players make each other look better than they really are. We also bought another fast talent to replace Vargas. Not as skilled but just as fast, if not more so. Keep an eye out for Junior Fernandez.

Wow, I cant believe millonarios turned around so quickly. I remember it wasnt that long ago (maybe last year) they almost got relegated. However im sorry to say this but i think itd be better for the competition if Junior and Once qualify, they just have a better chance to form good teams and be competitive. Im glad teams like Boca, Penarol and Internacional are in the tournament, I hate them with passion (deportivamente of course) but thats what makes the tournament more exciting. Also my 2 teams are in chivas and Atl Nacional... im really looking forward to this years Copa Libertadores!

Yesterday we qualified to the Final. But we need to win the Final (vs Univ.de Chile or Univ.Católica) in order to qualify to the Libertadores Cup 2012 (as Chile2). In that case, Univ.Católica will be Chile3.

If Univ.de Chile(they are Chile1 since june) or Univ.Católica win the championship, Univ.Católica will be Chile2 and Unión Española will be Chile3.

Excuse this probably very stupid question, but is Deportivo Quito the same as Liga departiva de Quito?

Man that Once Caldas vs Internacional sonds like a most interesting match to start off the Libertadores cup

    Sure is.

Inter just signed Dagoberto from São Paulo. So Inter 2 men upfront will be Leandro Damião & Dagoberto.

    Starting team should be:

    Muriel
    Nei
    Rodrigo Moledo
A Still be be contracted Defender
    Kleber

    Guinazu
    Tinga (Bolatti)
    D'Alessandro
    Oscar

    Dagoberto
    Damião

Not bad. But I was hoping for a few other new names. A big part of this team is still the same from the Libertadores 2010 Win and the Fifa Club World Cup loss to Mazembe.

So Union Espanola is Chile 3 and plays vs Tigres de Mexico and La U Catolica become Chile 2. There is a chance there will be two Chilean teams in the same group... thats just dumb

If UE goes through it would make it the third year in a row that 2 Chilean teams are in the same group.

It has happened the last two years; 2010 Univ de Chile and Universidad Catolica, after UC eliminated Colon de Santa Fe on the previous round. And last year U Catolica and Union Espanola were at the same group, after UEspanola beated Bolivar in the previous round.
