    out of
    Sporting Cristal and Bolognesi

Cristal has a pretty decent lead, so they should be Number 2

In the group that consists of
    Estudiantes
    Bolivar
    S. Cristal
    and Colombia3/Uruguay3

It looks pretty even. Argentine clubs are always good, Bolivar is strong at home, and Cristal has one of the best teams they have had in years.

So what? They ve been giving importance to Libertadores since the 80s and yet they havent even advanced to a Libertadores final in their history. They dont have experience or tradition outside brazil. You cant compare corinthians to a team like São Paulo.

By the way, the last time Corinthians beat São Paulo was in january 2003.

Champions with a big hand of the referees and the confederation. In easier words, a STEALED championship. I dont doubt the guy from the russian mafia that bought them also bought this year championship.

And I still think São Paulo has a better squad than Corinthians. We owned them in 4 games this year, 1 tie and 3 victories for São Paulo (one of them São Paulo 5 X 1 Corinthians, Tevez looked like a clown). But dont blame them, they always tremble the legs against the biggest team in the State of São Paulo.

Catolica today became the champs of Clausura 2005 in Chile. This means they qualify for Libertadores as Chile 2 and take part in the competition in group 4.

So does anybody else agree this could be the so called "group of death"?

Yea that looks like the death group.

They (Catolica) can take two roads. The Cobreloa road campaign of two years ago ;) , or build upon a great performance in this years Copa Sudamericana.

Are they keeping the core of the team together? Conca, Buljubasich, and the goleador, I forgot his name..

Conca became champion yesterday with Universidad Catolica, who wants to retain him but doesn't have the money to pay the option ($1,500,000 dollars for 50% of the transfer). He returns to Nuñez.

    Re: Copa Libertadores 2006

Everybody in Catolica has a contract until next year, so the only people that could leave are Ormeno, Conca, Buljubasich and Quinteros.

Negotiations with Bulju seem to be going pretty good, he seems to be pretty happy in Chile. Polo Quinteros is not a priority to the team because they are willing to bring in another forward of quality from Argentina if he decides to leave, although he is pretty well liked by the fans.

The Conca deal is a bit difficult. Catolica really wants him in the team for next year, and they are willing to go all the way to retain him. They don't have the money but they are trying to get River interested in players like Rubio as a part of the deal to retian Conca. Either way, it seems Conca won't have a place in River if he decides to go back... they just wanna sell him to the highest bidder.

The rest of the team will be untouched, which is good. Jorge Ormeno (probably the best defensive midfielder in the country right now) is owned by Santiago Wanderes, but I'm susre they'll let Catolica have him if they offer enough money. The rest of the team will be left untouched, which is an exteremely good thing.

Any teams make Key Additions that will help their cause for Copa Libetaodres? Did River get all the players they wanted? Any teams loose key game-making players.

Group 4 is definitely the group of death... i say UANL and Corinthians pass...sorry cacholica and unknown colombian.

i think guadalajara will easily beat colo colo to play in group 1 where it will have no difficulty passing and has a reasonable chance of winning the group. sao paolo is the only other decent team here.

UNAM and internacional pass to the second round in group 6 with little effort.

what if oriente petrolero left out river... lol... that would be SWEET.
