hum Long time no posts on this subject... and it's outdated let me take it fresh: 23/04 Round of 16 - 1st Leg: Fluminense 0 X 1 Sport Palmeiras 2 X 7 Vitória Flamengo 4 X 0 Remo Cruzeiro 2 X 0 Guarani Bahia 2 X 1 Vasco Now, to the next games: 30/04 (today) Vila Nova X Cruzeiro (Vila needs a 3 goal difference victory to advance, a victory by 2-0 and it's a penalty kick shootout. Any other 2 goal difference and Cruzeiro advances) Remo X Flamengo (Remo needs a 5 goal difference victory to advance, a victory by 4-0 and it's a penalty kick shootout. Any other 4 goal difference and Flamengo advances) Vitória X Palmeiras (Mission impossible, Palmeiras needs a 6 goal difference to advance, 7-2 is penalties, and 8-3 and so on Palmeiras advances) Vasco X Bahia (The only game today in which we have no idea of who will pass, Vasco team is stronger I think, and they need a 1-0 victory to advance, at home, and a 2-1 will go to the penalties and 3-2 and so on Bahia advances) I'll be back tomorrow night to post the results
01/05 - Tomorrow games 2nd leg Atlético-MG X Náutico (I'll be there, and Nautico needs a 2 goals difference to advance, a 1-0 it's Atlético advances, a 2-1 it's penalty shootout, and 3-2 and so on it's Nautico advances) Sport X Fluminense (Tough game, Flu needs to win 1-0 to penalty shootout and by 2 goals difference to advances) São Paulo X Figueirense (Easy game for São Paulo, they're at home, and Figueirense needs a 3 goals difference to advances 3-0, Figueira 2-0 its penalty shootout, and 3-1 and so on is Figueira advances) Botafogo X Goiás (Ugly games, two horrible teams playing, it's unfair that one of those will make it to the quarterfinals, well, Botafogo needs a 1-0 Victory to advances, a 2-1 is a penalty shootout, and 3-2 and so on it's Goiás advances) My guess? Pretty easy, Cruzeiro, Flamengo, Vitória, São Paulo and Atlético Mineiro are already there... Vasco and Botafogo will make it with a bit of difficulty, and Sport X Fluminense is balanced game, any of them can advance.... HERE COMES THE QUARTERFINALS....
TODAY RESULTS: Leg 2: Vila Nova 1 X 2 Cruzeiro* Remo 2 X 3 Flamengo* Vitória* 1 X 3 Palmeiras Vasco* 1 X 0 Bahia *Advances to quarterfinals
Wooohoooo!!!! Remo lost and is out!!! That team deserves nothing but to lose and lose and lose. There can be only ONE great team in the amazon region. A cookie to anyone who guesses what team that is.
i personally disagree.... i think it's fun when two "big" teams from the same state are in a great phase.... that increases rivalry, and rivalry is always fun.... oh, and Papao and Remo are both from Belem, so they already hate each other =)
From a competitive standpoint, you're right. Now from one fan to another: I'd rather see Remo fans crying for getting spanked than partying because of a championship, if you know what I mean. Edit: I live in Richmond, VA but I was born and raised in Belém ( a full 16 years).
Yeah you're right, I will never forget that day in the brazillian championship finals 98 when they were beaten by Corinthians 2-0... There were cruzeirenses crying everywhere.... god i felt great! Now, Remo are not the only ones crying right now, as you can see from today's results: Atlético-MG* 3 X 1 Náutico São Paulo* 1 X 0 Figueirense Sport* 2 X 1 Fluminense Botafogo 2 X 3 Goiás* (guess Botafogo's fans will be crying for some time) *advances to quarterfinals with these results, the quarterfinals will be: CRUZEIRO X VASCO(Great classic of the brazillian soccer, any side can win, but go VASCO!!!) X GOIÁS X SÃO PAULO(I still think Goiás team is weak, if i could bet, i would bet in São Paulo) ATLÉTICO-MG X SPORT(Go Galo, we're on great phase, believe me, we can crush Sport in both games) X FLAMENGO X VITÓRIA(I think Fla's team is better, believe me, they will win)
Rubro-negros Flamengo and Vitória will play three times now. Flamengo won the first (for Brasileirão) 2x1 in Maracanã, today. Next game for Copa do Brasil will be also in Maracanã on May 7th.
Today Results 1st leg - Quarterfinals Sport 4 X 0 Atlético-MG (damn, what the ***************) Cruzeiro 2 X 1 Vasco (burn in hell cruzeiro) Flamengo 2 X 1 Vitória Goiás 0 X São Paulo So, damn, i'm humilliated, we just lost to a ***************ing second division team 4-0, burn in hell Galo too, I'm not going in Mineirao anymore, that's it! (CELSO ROTH, GET THE *************** OUT OF OUR TEAM, WE NEED A NEW COACH)
Galo humiliated i saw the disaster on Globo Internacional. Where was the Galo that defeated Corinthians in Pacembeau 4-0? Dada Maravilha commented on how slow Galo looked. Losing Alesandro has really disputed the chemistry of the team - Guilherme really has no one to play off of. Still, Galo should have pulled back at least 2 goals last night -possibly a third - and a 2 goal differential would be doable in Minerão. But the Galo that played last night in no way looks capable of leveling a 0 x 4 deficit. a proposito: who was Dada Maravilha in his playing days? And who was the other commentator, the guy with the heavy northern accent? ;-) eugene www.manya.org
Rubro-negros again. Flamengo beats Vitoria again by 2x1, and again with a goal in the last minutes...
32 games unbeaten?
Dada Maravilha Dada Maravilha was a great player in his playing days, he played for lots of teams, and was one of the greatest players for Galo ever, in our great brazillian conquest in 1971, he was the one that scored the goal of the championship... About Galo, I'm really losing my faith in the team, but, hey, it's still not too late to do something about the Brasileiro
