He said that Saprissa is gonnna make it to the world club championships "porque somos mejores" and that he would bet on it, but the people of UNAM son "miedosos" the guy is funny...he would of lost his last bet when he said that chivas would beat america..they tied.. In some ways, this thread parallels the UNAM thread. Vergara at first attacked Hugo alot, but after a while, began pushing for him as "one of" our candidates to coach the national team; Vergara is anti-Lavolpe. Vergara also publically went at it with Ailton prior to the first championship. Etc. Etc. Whatever. Publicity is the name of the game.

Vergara said than he is so exicited about the CCC final not only because Saprissa made it but also because they have to play Hugo's team, appereantly Hugo Sanchez and Vergara have been futbol rivals for a long time. He also said than he would be so pleased to beat Pumas and that he is so sure that Saprissa is gonna win the CCC and that the main objective of Saprissa since Cup first started was end up first. And I believe than what he does about "j" x "x" it's just for fun not triying to disrespect anybody, I really think he does not mean to offend ... but it if somebody does feel disrespected why don't ask kindly for that not to be done anymore I'm so sure he would understand ... How can that be for fun, though? Him having fun = us being heated. The boards (CONCACAF, USA and Mexico) have all included some discussion over the proper spelling of Mexico and what it represents to us. To hear fellow Spanish-blooded people try to bring us down with this garbage knowing full well it's going to cause a sh!tstorm is extremely aggravating. That, in a nutshell, is disrespect.
MFL vs MLS or... UNAM-DCU-Crew [R] For those of you in this forum who saw the DC United- Columbus Crew game on ESPN friday night, you just saw how different and better the Mexican league is as compared to MLS. After being thoroughly waxed by UNAM Wednesday night, United started 5 playes two nights later who had played in almost every minute of four games in 13 days along with a bunch of scrubs- and almost pulled out a tie or victory against supposedly one of the better teams in MLS. The level of play as shown by the Crew was just light years below what UNAM showed- both at home and in DC the week before. Pumas was physically better and tactically much more mature than the team from Columbus and showed that the MFL is just a cut above MLS and will stay that way for years.
