its just bizarre you think Chile was better when they folded when it mattered in front of goal and defending their goal in knock outs you either deliver when you have to or you go home
There is a difference between saying Chile deserves to be in the semis, which is not what i'm saying, and saying for sure Chile played better than Peru, Uruguay and even Venezuela.
I love watching Chile play, but defending is half of the game. If you control midfield with lovely passes and penetrate their area with gorgeous through balls, but fail to score 90% of the chances, while at the same time you suck at defending set pieces, then no, you're not such a great team. You're just entertaining. All in all, I think Chile is a Top 10 NT right now. But they weren't better than Venezuela this Copa. Defending is half of the game.
I disagree, for every 10 games between Chile and Venezuela, Chile would win most. There are little variables that do not happen every game, like Bravos mistake or the 2 posts. Taken those exceptions out, Chile is a better team. They deserved to win, but Chile is still better.
Chile needs to do something about the defense, though. El Loco somehow made them compensate for the constant attacking and the holes left behind, in part by keeping a very organized line. And with him the set pieces were better defended. Borghi is ok, but he's not Bielsa. He's following the same ideas, but just a tad less effectively, IMO. I'm afraid that much of that which is good with Chile today is still a left-over from the Bielsa period; and that, as time goes by and el Bichi does things more his way, Chile will be less and less strong.
Getting a bit out of topic but lets remember that Bielsa's work didn't really start showing till after the away game @Venezuela during the WCQ. When he has had the same amount of time and games, then ill judge.
Yeah, I'm holding out as well. I think I will end up agreeing with Suyuntuy, but I hope I am proved wrong. For now all I can do is give Bichi the same time that was given to Bielsa. Then I will judge. At the moment my main critique of Bichi is that he is too dependant on Valdivia. He is the brains of the team, without him we are 80% less effective...and to rely on only one player is a failure IMO. Bielsa could make the team work almost as well without key players...Bichi cannot.

Cuente bien, yo se que no es su fuerte pero al menos inténtelo, Venezuela y Perú apenas suman 3 votos. A mi me parece que "la final soñada" la mayoría de la gente se quedó con ganas de verla. Pero bueno, son cuestiones de gustos del espectador.
Esto x2. Por la porquería de juego más una suerte descomunal, que ha tenido Paraguay hasta ahora, yo también 10 veces más prefiriría que gane Uruguay ahora. (más me habría gustado que hubiesemos sido nosotros, pero lamentablemente regalamos nuestra posibilidad y por ello no estamos ahora)
Eso no es cierto, en la fase de grupos jugaron muy bien y tuvieron bastantes chances...pero perdieron la concentración y cedieron goles en los últimos minutos.
Si de acuerdo, pero desde que salieron de los grupos, solo han jugado a "no jugar" y si sumamos los palos tanto de Venezuela, como los de Brasil y las posibilidades que ambos cuadros no pudieron aprovechar, no se puede negar que los guaraníes han tenido tenido una suerte descomunal. (si nosotros hubiesemos tenido solo una fracción mínima de esa suerte, y aquí hablo con envidia, podríamos haber sido nosotros los que estaríamos aquí, en vez de ellos)
No estoy de acuerdo. Perfectamente podríamos decir que Paraguay tuvo una suerte horrible en la fase de grupos. Brazil les mete un gol de la nada en los minutos adicionales y empatan... luego Venezuela les da vuelta un patrido en los últimos cinco... Salieron del grupo y se toparon con Brasil. Los culpas por salir a defenderse? Yo no. Lo hicieron muy bien y si Brasil no anoto fue porque tuvo a delanteros sin experiencia como Neymar que se farrearon oportunidad tras oportunidad. Eso es culpa de Brasil por apostar por novatos, no de Paraguay. Ahora les toco contra Venezuela y en lugar de arriesgar como en la fase de grupos jugaron de forma mas conservadora. Tuvieron suerte esta vez...pero en todos los partidos anteriores fue mas mala suerte que buena. La verdad es que ni tanta buena, ni tanta mala. Si están en la final es porque son un equipo solido defensivamente y duros de roer. Igual que los Uruguayos.
