preparations for copa america are on their way in venezuela they are very nice projects including hotels, transportation, recreation and facilities and all the cities that have been chosen to be part of copa america, so i guess this will be one of the best copa america ever!!!! the logo and here are pics from the stadiums that will be used in copa america 2007 Luis Ramos stadium, Puerto La Cruz city, capacity 38,000 Merida Metropolitan stadium, Merida city, capacity 40,000 Pueblo Nuevo stadium, Tachira city, capacity 40,000
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 Pachencho Romero stadium, Maracaibo city, capacity 45,000 of course this stadium is already build and will be make nicer and a they will add more stands Still no name, Barquisimeto city, capacity 35,000 Cachamay stadium, Puerto Ordaz city, capacity 41,300 later i will find renders of the stadiums of Caracas, Maturin and Barinas, but i can tell u that the Maturin stadium will be beetwen 50,000 or 45,00 people and the Barinas one for 30,000.
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 world-class stadiums but is the venezuelan league strong enough to sustain usage or what?
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 everyday more and more fans come into the stadiums and more and more money is put on the venezuelan league and teams, but still no maybe in 3-4 yrs yes
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 I really dont feel like having fight, so lets have a normal discussion. Mexico has reached the final twice and is only fair that they finally win it. Perhaps by 2007 we'll be better prepair.
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 Impressive infrastructure. Petrodolares at full work right there I know that building new stadiums from scratch in 4 (or more) different cities is a great jump, even more when they have a capapcity for 40,000 people or or more. Something like that would be impossible in Chile, so my congratulations for Venezuelans for giving the tournament a top priority and organization that hasn't been seen in quite a while (although the last Copa America in Peru was also pretty good).
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 Building four 40k+ seat stadiums is close to impossible in ANY Latin American country. That's damn impressive.
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 There are better pictures than those that I will post when I get a chance. Caracas: Known as the city that don't care about soccer unless is "La Liga" or "Serie A" is likely not to get the opening or closing of the tournament because the biggest soccer stadium is owned by "Universidad Central de Venezuela" and they are very irresponsible and use it all the time for concerts and other activities. MOST PROMISING STADIUM AT THE MOMENT (I believe is half-way done) It's very likely that the opening or closing will be in Merida
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 I guess that even the worst governments eventually would do something that favores you even if you have to bite your tongue. Gosh, what I can tell you about it...
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 As much as it hurts some people's feelings, MANY MANY olympic games and World Cups have been organized by communist countries or countries with Dictators (i.e. Brazil 1950, Argentina1978, China 2008 Olympics)
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 That's true. Add to that Berlin Olympics in 1936, Italy WC in 1934, and Moscow Olympics 1980. I guess that's the only way to keep the public a little quiet, give them circus.
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 anyways back in topic, venezuela haves great youth and the best venezuelan players from this group are young still like between 22 and 26 yrs they will be still around for copa america and wc 2010 so who knows maybe venezuela can be a suprise and get a 3 place in copa america
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 With the help from the Gov't u can make a 100,000 person stadium if they wanted to. Anyway hope it gets used and gets well maintanced after the cup is over ( i doubt it though)
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 I just don't see a stadium like this in Venezuela yet. It looks like the Barquisimeto stadium will be the only futbol stadium the rest are olympic style which Caracbobo FC does not deserve, btw. Im not trying to be pesimistic or anything but I am still waitng for "El Centro de Alto Rendimiento" in Margarita.
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 That Stadium is already half-way built. So YES you are being pessimistic. And it was already used for the "Andes games" or whatever they are called.
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 Esto me hace acordar de la Argentina "potencia" de los 70 y picos. Alguien se acuerda? y en que quedó? En el siglo XXI y todavia se siguen vendiendo espejitos, y comprando... "there is a sucker born every minute".... so true!!
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 Chavez has never said he was communist you fool. His government is more of a coalition of a bunch of leftist groups. Copa America 07 will be Peru's time to shine
Re: Copa America Venezuela 2007 Unfortunately not last Copa America I don't think they will do that great, past group stage at most and they will probably be grouped with Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, or Costa Rica.
