no that's chile's play style. they can do this to anyone. mexico's problem was that they believed their own hype and thought chile would be a walkthrough. terrible miscalculation from their part and they paid for it. they ill planned for the game.

on the other hand, the nads looked straight up a jv team while the varsity team (argentina) just wanted the game to be over. they could easily have run up the score if they gave a damn in any part of today's game.

anyways, overall, bad showing by concacaf alleged "top 1 & 2 teams" against south american competition.

the problem with mexico is their fan base keeps enabling them. they think they can compete vs some of these top teams, but that reality sets in

What does Mexico have to do with it? If you don't agree the US was embarrassing today you have a minnow mentality.

I can, I just did. If you want me to, I can say losing 0-4 at home is a great accomplishment, here is your participation trophy!

The worst part is that if you lose the third place game, which is possible, Mexico will still have 5 better participations at the Copa than your team.

Meltdown because of the terrible result. Some Nads are cheering for only losing 0-4, always comparing themselves with their daddy Mexico.

Losing 4-0 in the Semi's is a better accomplishment than getting thrashed 7-0 in the QF's... :sneaky:

I agree mexico's chances are not good if they play an elite team in a hypothetical 7-game format but fortunately that doesn't exist in the real world. If we are talking about a single-elimination style of tournament? they could absolutely compete against almost anyone in the world. outside of the 0-7 result, mexico hasn't lost more than 5 goals at a competitive in a long, long time (90+ years). to me, if there is a 90+ year gap to see this type of result, I'm fine with it as long as mexico bounces back..and according to history, they usually do.

the nads on the other hand, look like a team that has absolutely nothing outside of defensive workrate and grit (lol).
