Because of holidays, Hofstra University would occasionally have conversion days so that if a semester included 14 Wednesdays and 12 Fridays (such as being off the day after Thanksgiving), one Wednesday would be chosen to convert to a Friday schedule to make 13 Wednesdays and 13 Fridays (Hofstra semesters lasted 13 weeks). Do other colleges do that?
Yes. My wife's college has monday night classes meet on the first Wednesday of the term ( Wednesday classes meet for the first time in week two. Same with Tuesday night classes meeting on the first Thursday.
