Why? There wasn't one this season, or last season. Or the season before. Why should we expect one next season?

 

Er, what? Last season went down to the last game and could well have been decided on goal difference and this season went down to the penultimate game. How do they not qualify as close title races?

 

You were ahead all season. I don't think any other club lead at all.

 

Liverpool were 7 points clear at one stage.

 

And you had about four games in hand. Counting those as wins, you were five points ahead.

 

I see it was a mistake to thank a Liverpool fan for his respect and to wish for a close race next season.

I know you are only joking about but Liverpool fans have no safe excuses of 'all the referees calls', 'so many penalties' or anything of the likes this seasons. The reason this pisses me off is because 3-4 weeks from now, the season WILL be remembered as us getting all the calls and undeserved wins imaginable. Also, before anybody tries to bring up the 'penalties at OT' bit, Liverpool at Anfield were awarded three penalties and not one was given to the opposition, while at Old Trafford Man Utd were awarded three and three were given against us.

Anyway, so what if he has a dig? No supporter in their right mind believes thisleague was swung on a handfuls of questionable refereeing decisions.

If there's a reason for Liverpool finishing 2nd the answer is in their home record this year.

I could not disagree any more. Let's see by the time next season starts what the perception of us, our penalties, our late winners, and the 'Old Trafford card' are. his season is going to be pegged hugely down to luck and favouritism from officials on our part, when we actually had considerably less of either than our closest title challengers.

I guarantee you of this. The goal difference bit is also going to lead to us being labeled as undeserving and 'lucky'.

 

Four words: Disallowed goal versus Stoke.

Guess what? We just went and put it in the net again seconds later.

 

Well, lets give the title to Liverpool then because that's one pivotal decision right there..........
