Well done man utd on winning the prem From The Referee's of The Premier League HAHA only messing WELL DONE From A empty handed Liverpool fan
Why? There wasn't one this season, or last season. Or the season before. Why should we expect one next season?
Er, what? Last season went down to the last game and could well have been decided on goal difference and this season went down to the penultimate game. How do they not qualify as close title races?
I see it was a mistake to thank a Liverpool fan for his respect and to wish for a close race next season. I'll stick with insulting your club from now on.
I know you are only joking about but Liverpool fans have no safe excuses of 'all the referees calls', 'so many penalties' or anything of the likes this seasons. The reason this pisses me off is because 3-4 weeks from now, the season WILL be remembered as us getting all the calls and undeserved wins imaginable. But check this out.... it's compiled over the 37 Premiership games so far this season. Matches from other competitions were not included. Late winners (last 10 minutes): Liverpool: seven (five in injury time) (Torres '83 vs. Sunderland... Pogatetz '85 & Gerrard '90 vs. Boro... Kuyt '90 vs. City... Kuyt '85 vs. Wigan... Torres '89 & '90 vs. Chelsea... Torres '90 vs. Portsmouth... Benayoun '90 vs. Fulham) Man Utd: four (3 in injury time) (Vidic '90 vs. Sunderland... Berbatov '90 vs. Bolton... Macheda '90 vs. Villa... Carrick '86 vs. Wigan) Red cards for: Liverpool: ten (!!) in 37 f'king games! (Vidic x2, Tim Cahill, Dunne, A. Valencia, Adebayor, Friedel, Folan, Barton, Lampard) Man Utd: two (Andy Wilkinson of Stoke... Paul Robinson of West Brom) Red cards against: Liverpool: zero. Not a single one. Man Utd: five (Vidic x2... Ronaldo... Scholes... Rooney) Penalties for: Liverpool: five (vs. Portsmouth... vs. Man Utd... vs. Villa (x2)... vs. West Ham) Man Utd: four (Ronaldo vs. Bolton... vs. Everton... vs. Liverpool... vs. Spurs) Penalties against: Liverpool: two (Ronaldo... Mido) Man Utd: three (Giovanni... Gerrard... D. Murphy) Also, before anybody tries to bring up the 'penalties at OT' bit, Liverpool at Anfield were awarded three penalties and not one was given to the opposition, while at Old Trafford Man Utd were awarded three and three were given against us.
Billy, I think he was only messing. I managed to decypher this because of the bit of code hidden in his message which said: See what I did there? Anyway, so what if he has a dig? No supporter in their right mind believes thisleague was swung on a handfuls of questionable refereeing decisions. If there's a reason for Liverpool finishing 2nd the answer is in their home record this year.
Harry, I noticed he was only joking and switched what my post opened with to: See what I did there? I could not disagree any more. Let's see by the time next season starts what the perception of us, our penalties, our late winners, and the 'Old Trafford card' are. his season is going to be pegged hugely down to luck and favouritism from officials on our part, when we actually had considerably less of either than our closest title challengers. I guarantee you of this. The goal difference bit is also going to lead to us being labeled as undeserving and 'lucky'.
Well, lets give the title to Liverpool then because that's one pivotal decision right there..........
You mean the goal that was disallowed in the first minute? In a game where you couldn't score in the remaining 89 despite dominating? Oh, that game.
