agreed here....... question: is there any top team currently or in recent past that is enjoying/has enjoyed success with a coach that has been in place for say 4 years?
Putting Wenger aside (since he really hasn't enjoyed great success for over a decade now), the only manager I can think of would be Allegri, who's been at Juve for a little over 3yrs now. Will be interesting to see what his future looks like there, since he just signed an extension and the fact that Juve are in transition currently. Getting a manager to stay at a club and be successful beyond 3 seasons now is becoming pretty rare nowadays.

A very fair point. Moaning fans as well as Jose need to chill out right now. Apart from the shock result against Huddersfield we've been pretty solid so far this season. Forum posters like us have every right to take question individual decisions but overall we really have nothing to complain about. We're racking up points without Pogba and Ibra -- and Rojo, by the way -- and our young players like Rashford, Martial and even Tuanzebe and McTominay are getting valuable minutes. As are Pereira (now, not earlier in the season) and Fosu-Mensah, both of whom are likely to have a future at Old Trafford. And Lingard is serving his role as a squad man quite nicely. Legitimate swipes are few and, as the saying goes, far between. Lindelof seems like an unnecessary purchase in retrospect (although I was pleased to see several posters here raised questions about the necessity of bringing in Lindelof at the time) and possibly a bust (although the jury is still in deliberations). Miki has regressed badly after a bright start. But these things happen with every club, which is why at least club of United's statute has a deep squad. Things could be better, but things could be a lot, lot worse. The table shows us in second place to a team which is flying in fifth gear right now and we're at the top of our group and have all but booked passage to the first knockout round as the group winner. and for what it's worth, we're progressing nicely in the league cup, allowing our whippersnappers to gain more experience.
Why style means nothing to Jose. www.espn.co.uk/football/english-premier-league/23/blog/post/3255495/winning-all-that-matters-to-jose-mourinho-at-man-united-nothing-else
It's crazy. Everything you heard about Jose was that he always wanted to manage Barcelona (of course he had been working for the club). He also wanted us when SAF retired. If you know you cant win playing the style these clubs want, why sign up? Why is he getting so upset? Some thing doesnt add up. He knew what he was getting into.
He sees that PSG roster, no domestic competition, unlimited money, softer media, huge salary, etc. He's trying to force his way out.
All of this is true until they win a CL. Then expectations will go up. But until then, he can be their messiah in a weaker job. The next summer is his best opportunity.
Sounds like the tax case is already over. Guess Jose just said that after leaving the court room, paid up to settle it.
Now that this has been settled, let's hope that Jose will not be as cranky as he's appeared as of late and just gets on with it. www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-41856291
http://www.skysports.com/football/n...on-to-meet-disgruntled-manchester-united-fans as much as i think he is an idiot at times i don't mind this. the timing of it isn't good if you are looking from the outside but truthfully he has a lot more important things to do. that said, this was largely self inflicted
Kind of agree. I could see that sort of meeting turning poorly. Yet this is all 100% on Jose. No one in booing Lukaku. No one is displeased with the team. And for him to spend the last few weeks implying otherwise is some really distracting idiotic bullshit. Jose is all about mind games yet there doesn't seem to be any positive out of this one. If anything it seems like a bluff - get a contract extension, then leave for PSG and get a 30 mill payout from us. ******** off.

Gary is off base on this point. Jose’s comment was petulant. Nothing will come from this but it’s a bit cringey to see a manager to a shot at the fans, especially when the fans are right.
