Not really. They already know who's going next year. They'll probably choose like 3- 5 of the young lads from this tournament and they're good to go
1. World Champion 2. American Champion 3. European Champion 4. North American Champion 5. Host 6. Asian Champion 7. African Champion 8. Oceanian Champion Seen this way, logic played out as usual.
I remember in 2002 when Argentina could field 2 A squads, everyone was on their nuts... They couldn't make it out of their group. Germany is good.....I'm not on their nuts.
How many times were Chile scored on through the air? Im sure Osorio has it written in red that he needs to start 11 tall players next time
Argentina got jobbed because of how mismanaged they were by everyone's favourite golden calf in this forum: Marcelo Bielsa. Dude got out-coached in the two important matches of the group and paid the price. They should have had a better showing with better management.
Gonna be interesting to see this aging Chilean team at the World Cup 2018. Think of their last 4 big games. 2 Finals VS ARG, semi Vs Portugal, Final VS Germany. Zero goals. I think Chile has been brought back down to earth. Imo, theyre still the 3rd best team in south america, but I never bought into them being a WC contender.
Chile is one Alexis Sánchez regaining his finishing form step away from being a giant killer. Won't happen while he's at Arsenal, tho.
They need a true finisher. Edu Vargas is good, but he isn't a killer. I think Nico Castillo, provided he establishes himself in these last 4 qualifiers, could be the missing piece Chile needs to make one last stand with their golden generation.
I think Mexico was lucky not to get Chile again in this tournament. Chile > Germany > Mexico. If Mexico lost 4-1 to Germany and Germany had to get a defensive error to beat Chile and hold on for dear life, Mexico would have lost big again against Chile.
you could say the same thing about Germany being lucky that Chile wasn't up 2-0 in the first 20 minutes or that if Sagal doesn't sent it to Siberia Chile could have won in ET
