I still have my doubts that Mexico will not sent an A team to the Confederations cup. It's just too far away from it to be news. That being said if Mexico gets 6 points in March, it will really help out for this. But if even JCO couldn't get away from SUM friendlies, no doubt he won't be able to get out of the Confederations cup.
I thought the main motivation for sending your best team to the Gold Cup was to qualify to Confederations Cup, Concacaf is such a joke.
Its optimistic as hell but we could technically cross the "magic number" threshold of 15 points in June. My money is on the results of the March qualifiers being the deciding factor of us bringing our best team to the confederations cup. We have CR at home and TNT on the road. Its Do-able.
Memo Cantu said that there was going to be 2 teams for 2017 and he already said that there will be a B team for the Gold Cup, so it's probable that they will have the A team for the World Cup Q's and the Confederations cup. I don't think they will go with a B team to Russia, it will be the main priority if we don't fvck it up in March.
I think he might be trying to cover himself but it's BS if he does. Eventhough the distance is bigger this time, Mexico is actually advantaged compared to 2013. This time they will only have 2 games in Mexico before Russia as opposed to 3 games last time with 2 of them being away (Jamaica and Panama).
No it isn't, the CWC is the official World Championship, the Confederations Cup is not. The Conf Cup is a good title to earn, we always brought our A-team to it, there is no reason not to again. I agree that Osorio is tucking his tail in between his legs if he sends a B-team. If A-team players don't want to play in it, they can decline the callup. But if they do, then PLAY THEM. We're already gonna send a B-team to the GC that year, Conf Cup and qualifiers are for A-teams. JCO is on crack if he drops the ball here. This doesn't mean anyone is saying the Conf Cup is the World Cup. It's secondary, but still a good title. It's the WWE intercontinental title of NTs.
Anyone attended last confed cup? I am planning a work trip to Dubai around this time so going to Russia might be perfect. Never been to a WC or confed cup. Wondering if worth it or just wait a year for WC
There's nothing like going to the WC. If you have the means to do both then god bless you. If its one or the other, theres just no comparison. I was in Brazil and i plan to be in Russia. World Cup 2014 was incredible.

Yeah, why aren't they flying to Europe to play two friendlies, then flying back to Mexico to play 2 world cup qualifiers, then flying back to Europe to play in the Confeds?? Both teams, currently in first place of their respective groups, have WCQ matches the following week so I'm pretty sure they will take these games seriously.
