What a missed opportunity for this derby, but I'm guessing that island is still recovering from the devastation it suffered last year.
Barbados were didisciplined for using ineligible players, so Guyana gets an automatic 3-0 win (they drew 2-2). This puts Guyana in a better position for Gold Cup qualification. https://concacafnationsleague.com/e...iation-player-eligibility-cases?sf203793227=1

Yo...I should really get to sending my resume to the Barbados FA. This is the second time in recent years that they've forfeited a game for fielding an ineligible player! I'll take a full-time salary to go on the Internet once every couple weeks and make sure the NT lineups are kosher
Has anyone seen information on the rescheduled British Virgin Islands v. Bonaire 3rd round game? I see some online score sites that say the game is on January 3, 2019 but I don't see it anywhere else. I can't believe they are playing tomorrow and there is no mention of it on the CONCACAF site or anywhere else.
Only (unverified) info I can find: Well the British Virgin Islands v Bonaire has been postponed! So?? 🤔🤔🤔— SilentBoatman 💙 (@SilentBoatman) January 3, 2019
So I checked in with an expert... No, it was always March— Caribbean Football (@caribbeanfooty) January 4, 2019 Absent any official note saying that the game was for January 3, I'll take Caribbean Footy's word for it. FWIW the CNL website doesn't have an official date for the match, either.
https://www.flosports.tv/concacaf-selects-flosports-u-s-broadcast-partner-concacaf-nations-league/ FloSports is a streaming service that you can access via devices like Roku and Apple TV. It looks like it costs $12.50 a month. According to this article USA games in the CNL are not part of the deal. https://www.sunherald.com/sports/article225187470.html
Here's hoping Univisión Deportes or Telemundo/NBC Universo picks up the Spanish-language rights. Btw, check this out from the official press release: Did you catch the difference? In the past, Concacaf had hinted at the CNL being used as qualifiers for "international tournaments". Referring specifically to the Gold Cup now suggests a dip in enthusiasm over the possibility of collaborating with CONMEBOL again like they did in 2016. And given what CONMEBOL's president himself has shared about where they stand... It looks like the hoped-for 2020 joint Copa América in the US will be sacrificed on the altar of territorial squabbling.
Updated: Lots of changes and a date for the last 3rd round game. If Montserrat end up missing out on the Gold Cup due to goal differential, that last second goal they conceded vs. El Salvador will likely haunt their players for a long, long time.
So Caribbean Footy, the best source bar none for all things football in the Caribbean basin, just laid into St. Vincent and the Grenadines One of the most corrupt, worst-run FA's in CFU (SVGFF) whose last match was a loss to a team rock-bottom of the FIFA rankings (no disrespect to TCI), wants to charge $8/day to watch what is sure to be a poor broadcast and deny the mainly U-23 players a rare chance at exposure pic.twitter.com/G5qzhsb8s8— Caribbean Football (@caribbeanfooty) February 28, 2019 Teams on the pitch prior to the kick off at the Windward Islands tournament, the audio system is not working at the stadium, so no FIFA-anthem, no national anthems, etc...and this is the FA that wants to charge for a broadcast.— Caribbean Football (@caribbeanfooty) February 28, 2019 Here is the table after Day 1 of the Windward Islands tournament. Here's hoping someone gets a hold of the greedy snakes at the SVGFF and straightens out their pisspoor coverage of the tournament. pic.twitter.com/SImddoqTe4— Caribbean Football (@caribbeanfooty) March 1, 2019 When I see an FA shooting players in the foot purely out of greed I get heated. I'd be happy to pay a reasonable price for 10 matches, even knowing the stream was crap and it probably goes to the SVGFF president's pocket..this is an FA who brought only 3 subs to TCI to save money https://t.co/BH0q6s3gHY— Caribbean Football (@caribbeanfooty) March 1, 2019
The draw will be on March 27...and Concacaf has finally confirmed that Guatemala will participate, down in League C. Now the question is, how far will they have to climb to qualify for a Gold Cup in the near future.
The Leagues will be like this right: A: 12 teams B: 16 teams C: 13 teams After the first league season is done 4 teams will move up to League B from League C, right? So if Guatemala wins their group in C they would become one of the top 28 teams but they would surely be in the 25-28 positions. If the Gold Cup stays with the top 16 it seems like Guatemala would have to win their League B group in the 2020-2022 CNL to get up into that range. So the earliest Guatemala could get into the Gold Cup would be 2023. If nothing else changes. I made a lot of assumptions here and am probably wrong.
That's the thing, we don't know for sure. Their continental ranking is still pretty high; once they make it to League B, unless they lose too many points from playing with scrubs for a year, they should be a top seed in their league for the following CNL draw. More importantly, if Concacaf gets cheeky and decides to use the rankings for 2021 Gold Cup qualifying (e.g. winners and runners-up from 2019-20 CNL League A groups + next best 8 in the rankings regardless of league), Guatemala could sneak in that way.
That makes more sense. I missed this part of the draw: So the Qualifying order is just to see which league you are in and then the CONCACAF rankings determine your pot. Guatemala could advance into league B out of C and then be a Pot 1 or 2 team in the actual draw. They could definitely do the Gold Cup as you suggest.
Speaking of which: here are the pots for League A as things currently stand. Pot A1 Mexico USA Costa Rica Honduras Pot A2 Panama Jamaica Canada Haiti Pot A3 Trinidad and Tobago Martinique Cuba Curaçao
Mind you, I just now realized that with the Nov 2018 ranking, Haiti needs El Salvador to miss out or we'll end up in the lowest pot. EDIT: Silly me, I was confusing League A and Gold Cup qualification. For the latter, it's no skin on my back if El Salvador make it or not (although the lulz if they fail will be endless), but they would have to beat Jamaica by at least 4 goals to even have a shot at League A. Never mind

Surely a proper gold cup qualifying tournament like wcq set up would be much better.. U have sides like canada beating up on minnows to get to a tournament the really should not be in..
