1. Berhalter apologists. Most the media angling for him to get the USMNT job. Several on this message board and twitter. 2. So many goddamn Crew fans everywhere, some here and many elsewhere.
I really wanted Santos to do well (because he does seem to hustle). I also want hang to happy, but will settle for getting rid of Pedro.
So, now that we've hit postmatch, has any word trickled out yet as to what was going on with Meram not being in the 18?
Well he is good at kicking balls over goals. He is about to have a new boss that could use that skill set.
Following up on that Erickson tweet I linked: if this agreement is in-place (boy, Crew-related secret agreements are awesome!), why didn't the Crew mention it during the week? They had plenty of opportunities, but instead let Meram discuss how excited he was to return there, etc., etc. This entire organization is a clown show right now.
I certainly would not have said that Meram was going to dunk on Orlando if I had known about this double-secret pinky swear. Edit: Also my Meram golazo bonanza proclamation in the SdTC thread.
I'm speechless. There's literally nothing about this that makes sense. First, I can't believe any trade would involve such a "stipulation" in the first place. Second, I don't understand why a player who had fallen so far out of Orlando's favor to the point where they were wanting to trade him would prompt such an agreement -- if they thought he was going to be that harmful to them, they should have been playing him instead of trading him. And third, why would you agree to that in the first place? Was Orlando really going to make that their hill to die on? Were they going to back out of the trade otherwise? Unreal.
It's a fairly typical stipulation for intra-league loan deals, but I can't remember ever seeing that in a trade.
We didn’t lose bc Meram didn’t play. We lost bc Pipa is too old to lead us and we’ve continually downgraded our FW position and missed on our DPs.
We also didn't have Satan as our owner a few years ago. The Dispatch article is below. This "agreement" applies to loans, but Meram was traded and not loaned. *Looks at front of jersey.* *Sees Columbus logo.* Yup. Because MLS will absolutely MLS. https://www.dispatch.com/sports/201...revented-justin-meram-from-playing-at-orlando
It was rather difficult to watch this game after watching Gladbach play wonderful flowing soccer in a 4-0 victory over Mainz just before this game. Had it not been the Crew....
Posession is nothing if not dangerous. Posession for 2/3 of the pitch is nothing unless you are bunkering. Posession is nothing if you do not attack the box. Posession is nothing if you let the defense track back causing crosses to nowhere. This has been the Crew the last month. I can copy/paste this comment after every match.
What would have happened if Meram played? Would the game have been forfeited? Would Orlando walk off in protest. this is horse crap and a fireable offense. Let me understand this Greggggg: Your team isn’t playing well Your team is struggling to find rhythm Your team might crash out of the playoffs, after being a shoe in three weeks ago. Yes good choice on following a gentlemen’s agreement. Hope you dont fall for this crap at the NT Level. Fire him if we dont win and make a run....of course we would need an owner in place to fire him. But beggars cant be choosers.
Just fine thanks. I'm making a stuffed acorn squash for dinner. Vegetarian friendly as well. I'll let you know how it turns out.
I'm glad that a home playoff game isn't going to interfere with Trick-or-Treat. That was just awful stuff. Did our forward or 2 wingers touch the ball in the box? Santos is getting worse, hard to believe, but I feel it's true. It's a miracle this team has survived on its defense to the mid point of the season. It's also not surprising that they haven't been able to continue to do so the last couple of months. Having to get a shutout to have a chance at a point has to be mentally taxing.
