You should stick to defering. You could tell at a glance this was the best crowd of the year. There were fans in every section, even top level seats in the second deck. Only other game that was close was the 16.6k game. Yes, there was some yellow in there as well and 19k is higher than I would have estimated. I'd have guessed 17-18k. Still a lot of folks standing around the edges. Plus, as we all know it is indeed tickets sold/distributed vs butts in seats. But to equate tonight's attendence with every other Crew game this year is moronic. It was not even close to our average crowd.
The last sentence of your third paragraph is exactly what I was getting at. You agreed with my larger point. But keep on ranting, that’s what this board is for.
It's just like Honest Abe said: "You can fully be a dick some of the time, kind of a dick all of the time, but you can never fully be dick all of the time." Or something like that.
And yet, smaller than the playoff game which only attracted 14K. It's apparent MLS attendance is whatever the hell MLS wants it to be as opposed to tickets distributed or people at the stadium.
I thought this board was for a gathering place where optimism went to die. Coincidentally, I walked away from that win with a hollow feeling. It felt like we should have performed a whole lot better against that Colorado team, being a man up, and at home. I figured this thread would reflect my odd feeling. Nope. This place is a positive bomb of kumbaya.
We are really good at playing down to our opponents. I know Mensah has been nothing but underwhelming compared to his salary, but I'm most nervous about Josh Williams when he's in the back line.
We are rewatching the game right now. That early near giveaway by Williams stopped my heart, and I knew it did not result in a goal. Rewatched the Zardes goal a few times. The defender who raised his hand to indicate offside looked like he was the guy who kept Hype Train onside. Technical difficulties from Crew Stadium? Classic.
Better team won. Should have won by more if we could have sent a few better shots against Howard, and if we wouldn't have given up that embarrassing goal. But a win's a win. Most folks looked good. Higuain (and Santos) are getting geared up for important part of the season.
Replace moronic with disengenous or misinformed, but I agree with the rest. It was no worse than 2nd largest crowd of the season.
To me, I thought there were more at the stadium on the fireworks night than last night, but this was announced as much more. Weird.
Anyone else catch that weird window through the clouds to the SE with the intense rainbow rectangle? I saw it walking around at halftime not sure how long before or after it was visible. It was a strangely beautiful night weather wise. EDIT: Look at me, I did snap a pic. That's very unlike me.
I caught it pregame behind Lamar. Nice sign for tonight. Go Crew! #crew96 pic.twitter.com/Yr5AhaewB1— Todd Ables (@ToddAAbles) September 23, 2018
Did a Klingon Bird of Prey come out of the sky looking for humpback whales in order to save the future by having the humpbacks whales communicate with some probe? Hello, computer! Great picture. It is almost as if we should have a gathering at some point.
