Frankie is my all time favorite Crew player but I don't think he was/is as marketable as McBride was or Mix is. Let's face it, defenders don't exactly sell tickets. Mix is going to be the go to guy for the media for at least the next four years unless someone new steps up (Gall?) Mix is about as good as any at his position in MLS and at 24 his potential is huge. I just think he gets a bad rap around here for the actions of his father/manager and that is sad.
You're nuts. By the time Frankie was here he'd played in 2 WCs already. Went, and played. Was huge in '02. Casual soccer fans and non-soccer fans knew Hejduk. They don't know who Diskerud is. He made the 23, but didn't play a single minute. Hejduk was a starter across multiple WCs. Frankie played in Germany and Switzerland. Mix plays in Norway. It's not even close.
