@pepinointer is not the monster people make him out to be.

When I got here in 2013, we got into it because I was critical of Pekerman but we quickly learned to respect each other's opinion.

When I went on deployment, he was the only poster to update me on the NT.

BeIn showed the games last WCQ.
anyone remember the days of having to watch WCQ games on JumpTV? LOL

Separately, for Copa America - Telemundo will be showing games. Don’t know what other channel will show the games in the US.

BEIN used to have the rights for WCQ CONMEBOL and that to me was the biggest appeal of the channel, don't know if they will anymore because the rights to all the leagues and teams have been swapped around a lot in recent years here. We will have to wait.

ESPN has Espn+ that is $5 a month. It has the Italian league. Really hope they show copa America or get the Comenbol qualifiers. $5 a month for the only leagues I want to watch would be great.

BEIn needs the WCQ to stay relevant. La Liga alone is not gonna hold them up. As far as I know, just like the last 2 wcw, they will have the next one as well.

Potentially we could revert back to dark ages? I can't find who has the right for upcoming qualifiers anywhere. We might end up with some obscure website like jumptv.

Not to sound like a jerk but why are people concerned about World Cup Qualifying on Television? The Copa America is what we should be focused upon. :p

Qualifiers might not even start up until March of 2020.

There's a lot of things still up in the air for qualifiers that are yet to be determined.
There is going to be a vote in March on whether 2022 will be expanded to 48 teams. (Unlikely. but with the current FIFA regime you never know.).

Once that is settled then the CONMEBOL will have to decide what the qualifying format will look like and then the schedule. It may be the same as last cycle but it could be totally different.

After everything is all set in stone I think we will learn more about the TV schedule.
My gut says BEIN Sports again especially since they are owned by a Qatari Company and will want to emphasize the Qatar World Cup brand.

But if the Copa America gets good Ratings on Telemundo we may see them try to get some games too.

We will all have to wait and see.

    Please don’t ever change. LoL

Just like a bad song, the thought of HJ’s will not escape during the CA.

Speaking of TV - it is quite sad that the TV rights for the Copa America are not set in stone.

UEFA Euro which is in 2020 is already established for just about every possible country while broadcasting rights for the CA have only been set in the CONMEBOL countries - just about everywhere else is still listed as TBA

The good news is (as you pointed out) Telemundo has the rights in Spanish in the USA and that is final.

English rights are up in the air. I don't think anyone wants it.

ughh, but that's likely with mostly Mexican broadcasters and a sprinkling of an Andres Cantor to make it 'legit'.

During the World Cup they had Juan Pablo Angel commentate some of the Colombian games with Cantor.

I assume they will try and do the same thing for the Copa.
