So we face the same squad that Qatar used to win the Asian Cup this year correct? Well recently it was learned that they were once again invited to next year's edition that we and Argentina will be hosting (as well as Australia as the other invited) and so a good chance that we would face these guys yet again.

Now Qatar recently lost 2-0 to Brazil, which isn't as bad as others would expect a non-south american/european team to perform against Brazil if expected to lose. Their squad as expected (and verifying on both the called up squad and who they had when they won the asian cup) is more or less the same. All of their players play domestically in Qatar with not a single player playing abroad. The only foreign member on their team is the coach who is from Spain.

Personally, I am really not afraid of these guys. They should be a straight-forward opponent as we showed how much of an advantage we had as we treated Brazil back in 2014 as if our home nation. Thankfully the weather is ideal for us while they're used to dry although hotter weather.

That being said, they will want to do as much of a impact as possible given that they're going to likely be representing their nation when they host the WC in 2022. So my point? Let's just take them seriously and not be stupid.

A easy win and 3 points should be expected for us.

Well I can tell you that with how we tackled Argentina today, our team's strenght/chemistry shouldn't be in doubt. That being said, i do believe that our squad would still go all out just to secure our qualification into the next round. Not only that, but the coach may attempt to rest our players as well as possible before the group stage ends.

Also, considering the amount of yellows we had which should still reset once the group stage ends, would he care to risk some of those players even against Paraguay? I dont want to take them lightly again.

I'm not too concerned the level of competition, but I am concerned after researching this team, they foul a lot and foul hard. Injuries and getting under the heads of the players for red cards is something that I sometimes see Colombia can be weak about.

Thankfully our coach does have a history with them; since coaching Iran from 2011 to this year, he's played them a few times and yes while the teams do naturally change every few years, he's never lost a match and the more recent generation he's won. I am confident that he knows what to do in order to handle a physical team like that based on what you said.

I'd prob start Duvan, let Falcao rest for Paraguay. He looked exhausted when he came off today.

Oh no. Just read Wilmar had an MRI after the game. Didn't even realize he was hurt.

    Really hope he is alright.

Have we played the same 11 since getting a new coach?

No Cardona or Diaz this game I can see them starting. I don’t think he will change the defense tho. The MF and attack def.

Cuellar and Lerma were both disappointing in recent friendlies.

However, like Barrios when we were still running with Sanchez, Lerma hasn't had a shot to play in the center of the pitch by himself. I'd go with him.

That said, Barrios is as important to the team as James is...so I hope to god that ain't true..

I know a bit about Qatar. They are pretty good but you should have no problems against them. All I will say is, watch out for Ali Almoez. He is one heck of a player.
