This team has all the confidence in the world now after beating up on sparring partners.

Hopefully that confidence carries over into Poland next week.

These friendlies are doing amazing things for the team! I am very optimistic. Perhaps redemption is upon this team for the poor lucky performance from the South American tournament not too long ago...

Yes they look good in these friendlies but its still just friendlies. Cucho and Sinisterra added a lot as we thought and all of a sudden Carbonero shows us that he can play football which didn't happen 4 months ago. Let's hope it'll continue. On Wednesday I'm off to Poland.

The good thing is that in friendlies before sudamericano we werent scoring either. A lot of 0 0 draws

How is everyone on this squad? No health issues unlike with our senior side? My chief at work is pretty optimistic now.

Actually we do have issues. Both Hayen Palacios and Yeiler Goez, who were starters in the Sudamericano, are injured and were dropped out from the squad. Other than that, so far we are OK.

Yes, I just figured that out looking at the team sheet too.

Surprised Vera is starting. Still good to see what we speculated on offense with Angulo, Sinisterra and Cucho out there at the same time.
Should provide the offensive punch we need hopefully.

Why surprised? He was in my opinion in the top 3 performers of our team in the Sudamericano and has been playing regularly for Leones in the Torneo Águila. Besides, since Hayen got injured the obvious replacement is Arroyo Who has shown that he is more adept to playing as right back than left back, where he is in my opinion a calamity waiting to happen.

    ------------------Mier

    Arroyo------Reyes-------Cuesta------Vera

    ---------------------Balanta
    ----------Alvarado-----------Perea

    Angulo--------Cucho----------Sinisterra

Surprised not because of ability. Just thought Arroyo would be on the left.

Hayen was on the right side and got injured. Not sure that Arroyo would've start if he wasn't injured. Regardless Vera was one of the best in the Sudamericano when he played as a LB.

I thought Arroyo started at LB in the three friendlies we dominated which solidified things but I obviously was wrong..
Just cause someone plays well in the Sudamericano does not mean they will start in the Mundial.

Yup. Not really. He hasn't been the starter, he's been rotating with Colorado in the right back and in the second halves he's replaced Vera as the left back. And as i've said before, you can use him to cover for left back, but he is ********ing awful, his left foot isn't very good and is often caught out of position in the left.
