New to college soccer... How common a practice is it for a college program to cut or not invite players back for the next season? Do different coaches do it in different ways? How often are kids just straight up told there is no spot for you next year?
Depends on level, school, and program. In my experience, it's not uncommon. Sometimes it just happens. A variety of reasons: coach change, AD involvement, scholarship changes, etc.
