So, now you drive 110? Hint, driving faster does help you get away from the kids...if they are sitting in the back seat! Why don't I have children, again?
Ha, funny... Nah, I became a more calmer but when they have to pee and the next rest stop is 30 miles away, yeah I go 90... For the most part, they behave, so really is not that bad, to the point we might drive all the way up to NY or PA next summer...
I once used my Jetta, manual transmission, to get from Orlando to Miami in about 2.5 hours. And I was not the only one intent on getting to Miami...
I was ticketed in Morocco for driving 67 kph on a highway (the speed limit was 60). So eff all of you. Then again, the ticket was $15.
After finishing a job in Orlando I headed in the opposite direction AFAP. And I was not the only one intent on getting out of Orlando...
Well, we were headed to see the US v. Argentina at the Orange Bowl. There were some Argentina jerseys being worn in one of other cars.
Periodically the highway (two-lane road) goes through towns. You're supposed to slow down there, which people generally do. The police catch the drivers when leaving. You speed up because you are clear of the town, nothing but open road ahead, but it's still a 60 kph zone, for the next kilometer or so. Speed trap. But happily, the stakes are low. I didn't much mind the $15. What I did mind was crawling around after that, knowing that every time I left a town there might be a cop with a radar gun at the top of the hill.
Ah, so rural highways, not "motorways". So, as our oldest non-French ally, Moroccan cops take a lot after our own.
Illinois isn't bad with that. We gotta break the speed limit by at least 15 mph to get ticketed. At a minimum. Iowa, on the other hand ... I spent four hours there and came home with a ticket, for going 74 in a 65 zone.
Estonia looks to Finland to fast-track Rail Baltica project https://yle.fi/uutiset/osasto/news/...d_to_fast-track_rail_baltica_project/10557270
Sounds like they want Finland to help pay for it. Maybe Finland will pay up for the Tunnel to Helsinki, is only around 85 kilometers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helsinki_to_Tallinn_Tunnel If wiki is right, the EU will pay for about 85% of the Rail Baltica. https://yle.fi/uutiset/osasto/news/a_tunnel_to_tallinn_helsinki_believes_its_feasible/8571689
Meanwhile, back in California the high speed rail is still progressing over budget and under speed, but it is still sexy.
Yep- it helps to be part of a group, always exchanging places. The cops can get the guy in the front (if they're ahead, speedgunning you) or the rear, but the center cars are generally safe. I've done 100+ many times down I-75 from Chattanooga to about Acworth on my way to ATL. Now that ATL runs damn near halfway to the Tennessee line and the traffic starts much sooner, those days are gone. Now I go thru Birmingham, which is a slightly longer but much less congested trip. I-75 gets traffic from a bunch of people coming thru from wherever and headed wherever. B'ham, not so much. I drove home from school one dry, dusty summer day in a convertible and no shades. At first my dad thought I'd been drinking 'cause my eyes were red as an apple.
