Replays confirmed my initial thought; Pellegrini was offsides on his goal. Not that I’m complaining though.

Nonchalant Kolarov has let 98 glide by him twice in dangerous positions.

98 is embarrassing Kolarov down his flank.

Zaniolo has Dzeko wide open to his left and Florenzi to his right with one defender in front of him, and naturally he tries to take him on and completely wastes the chance.

Need 1 point from next 2 games to guarantee qualification.

We have the tiebreaker over CSKA now.

First time in 10 years we’ve won 3 CL games in a row.

Funny how cynical our league form has made us ; we can't even acknowledge/appreciate how much better we are in Europe now.

Ugly win , but I don't care. Madrid shit the bed in Russia ; we didn't.

Great result, it's never easy in Russia. Anything short of a mega collapse from us and we are through to the next round.

Ugly. Can we please get under, Kluivert and Schick up front for a run of games?

Feels good to have undeserved three points for once.

    The second goal was offside.

Its never easy winning away games in CL. Last year we lost 4 times drew once and won once . Hopefully we get another big home game vs Real Madrid like we had vs Chelsea/Barca/Liverpool last year.

Pleased with the win but we played horribly. CSKA one of the few teams in the CL in which that performance would be good enough for the 3pts.

What an opportunity it will be to clinch 1st place at home to Real now. A game I'll be at.

Have to say I've been very impressed with Zaniolo. I think we could have a real steal on our hands here.

    Nice , enjoy it man!

Agreed. EDF plays him at the weirdest times , but the potential is obvious , imo.

I think it was the perfect time to bring him on in this match. He is incredibly confident at keeping the ball and playing those little link up 5 yard passes when seemingly under pressure. The type of player you want to play keep ball when the game is winding down.

In terms of EDF's midfield game plan, the best line up for the 2 mids alongside Nzonzi or DDR as of now has been him and Pellegrini of the the past month. Both link up well together. Interesting potential partnership going forward.

Once again we see our predictable one dimensional attack produce better quality scoring chances outside of the serie a. Tactically the serie a is just too good to keep doing the same things over and over.

It's sad when I fancy our chances to score against pretty much any non serie a team in the world more than in our own league and this includes the top flight teams. Problem is of course the talented teams can still score a bunch on us.

On top of that, he is really strong. I’ve seen a few Viola player bounce off of him last week. Yet his final third decision-making is still poor.

Dzeko doesn't merit a start going forward. Not saying Schick is Batistuta, but he has to offer more than what Dzeko has been giving us lately.

Cheers man, I'll be at the Inter game too on the following Sunday. Hopefully they'll put together a couple decent showings in those two games! Not my first game, but its been a while since my last.

Pellegrini is the first Serie A player since Seedorf in 2007 to get an assist in 3 straight champions league games.

Are you joking? He dribbled their whole defense and was off balance. Great glimpse of his quality.

You'd think people that came to snap judgements about Pellegrini and were proven wrong, would take what they've learned and apply it to their opinions of Cristante and our other young players.

These aren't Ucan level prospects here. Give em' time. Karsdorp is the only one I'd be truly worried about, atm.

Also, I thought Bryan was actually pretty solid today , lucky assist and all.

I don’t understand this at all we are shocking in the league, but when champion league comes along it a different team, the squad does realise we need to be top 4 to qualify next year.
