Missed point Lacazette has played in four games lol... you should really be more concerned after he has more games with club You generally seem to rush to judgment I.e. Joe embiid being all NBA after a month
why do you do this? You are picking a fight for a)no reason b) because you misunderstood my post (being generous) All I said is that he wasnt good in the Chelsea match. I didn't call him garbage and say he should never start for us again and should be sold. Seriously fam, get off my sack.
Dollar short / day late player Decent but not elite. Should have got him 2 years ago. He addresses some of the shortcomings of Giroud, so that helps the team but it needs to be remembered Giroud has border line elite numbers despite his lack of mobility. Add to that the lack of elite wingers and you have an issue.
The only problem with this reasoning is that Lacazette is a much better player than he was two years ago. The wide forward thing is spot on though.
Yeah, sorry, I whiffed on that. The good news is, we won't have to worry about channels for the next match...
I am not picking up a flight. I know what you posted. No reason for you to run off to dramatic end of the spectrum. Point is - do not be overly concerned about Lacazette -it is too early to tell.
I literally re-explained my post and you still didn't get it. What are you saying here? He isn't elite but we shoulda bought him years ago? If he isn't elite, then why buy him?
i think there's room for SOME sub-elite players as long as there are elite players who makes others better around them.
Too little, too late If buying him then better to have got him 2 years ago instead of in this highly inflated market. As usual Wenger dithered over the decision that now actually can't fix the much larger problems Arsenal has developed. Laca does fix some of the issues we know Arsenal has, in the same way Welbeck fixes them - but he is a way better player than Welbeck. So for instance last season motivated Sanchez paired with Laca plus Ozil asisting (remember Ozil was coming off an elite season and started well) - that could have done some real damage. Now it feels like Laca is walking into a crisis where the other 2 elite forwards are leaving. So too little, too late.
Dude, Lacazette got a lot better in the last two years. His data from last year was way better than it was three years ago.
What I'm saying is that he improved beyond expectations. Here's his age 23 data, from 2013/2014: 497122284063440896 is not a valid tweet id Here's 2015/2016: 768895590214184964 is not a valid tweet id Here he is last season (broken into two, unfortunately): 871657746843750400 is not a valid tweet id It's hard to project that Lacazette would go from being a poacher to a much more complete player, especially between the ages of 23 and 26. Players that are bad passers usually stay that way. And the real improvement as a passer was last season. There's a lot to criticize about Arsenal's decisionmaking, especially re: transfers, but simply saying it was better to have gotten him two years ago without looking at what the player was like then relies far too much on hindsight. Two years ago, it wasn't at all clear that Lacazette would improve the way he has. And it's not as if someone who starts for Lyon is someone that Arsenal wouldn't know about.
Also, the low shot volume at Lyon (a consistent trait, it looks like), suggests that there will be times where we're really frustrated with Lacazette.
Arsenal have scouted Lacazette continually for 5+ years as he was someone that has Wenger liked since his youth years. It was just that until now he wasn't deemed well enough developed to be a target. Bad luck that it coincided with the market going bananas but I can live with that.
