"Scouting" Schalke's semi-finals opponent. Really haven't watched any English football since the Bundesliga winter break. Was about to remark that the game left something to be desired, but at least the Giggs-Rooney combo have collaborated on a nice goal now.
I hope none of those posters whinging about the favours Barca get from UEFA referees are Man Utd supporters. Stone wall penalty and red-card foul on Evra not called in the 92nd minute! Then a yellow-card on Torres for "diving" when it was nothing more than a tangling of feet. I hate Chelsea but that had the smell of corruption all over it!
Hey, not cool to call the ref's integrity into question whenever there's a controversial call to make. Really no need to go there. It was the wrong call, I think we can all agree. But refs have to make those decisions on the pitch in a split-second. It's a difficult job and the UEFA refs are very qualified people. I find this populist ref-bashing really irksome. It's very poor form.
Is the 5th official allowed to make those calls? Or is he solely there for decisions about the ball crossing the goal-line?
