I keep hearing Djilobodji had a great debut instantly after coming on. Anyone care to expand?

That's what I was thinking. Thanks for clarifying.

Scoring goals was good tonight. Great for the confidence of the team. But our defence is still not convincing. Do you remember when it was invincible?

I felt like last year if we needed to hold a lead, we could.

First half we couldn't stop a thing. The season I quoted we shipped a total of what, 16 goals in the league? That was an unstoppable defense.

    Dave-Terry-Gallas-Cole.

That'd be one hell of a backline.

Oh man, Costa getting passes from Lampard and Hazard and Robben... I'm drooling.

I like Crespo and Drogba better overall.

Billy was so athletic, but I always thought Carvalho was a better CB. But looking back we've had great CB's.

I loved Percy but Billy edges it. And Hazard to Drogba, a prime Drogba, yikes. And Drogba always had problems with Vidic, but I think Costa would've gotten on his nerves just because.

    Just for giggles:

    --------Cech----
    Dave-Terry-Gallas-Cole
    Essien-Maka-Lamps
    Hazard-Drogba-Robben

What I would give for that midfield. Essien running up and down with Hazard in front, that would be fun to watch.

Let's move this to the News Thread, as this could be a great conversation to have.

Robben also played on the right most of the time, so that would be a problem with Hazard.

It would? Hazard predominantly plays on the left so having Robben's pace and directness on the right would do wonders for Eden IMO.

Yeah right.. maybe going into november/december but our defense, despite not shipping a ton of goals, did not look anything close to concrete.

Pace and directness on the right? We've got Willian for that!

We have pace on the right. Nothing direct about Stationary Willian.

Sarcasm of course. Though if Pedro keeps this up and our midfield gets their shit together things should start to look pretty decent. Well.. our backline needs some fixing up as well.

I don't know. Willian is pretty direct when he passes backwards to the keeper.

No shit, I was thinking about that when I typed the post. He's very direct when moving the other way.
