No Bundesliga 1 or 2 official action this week as the leagues shut down for the Euro qualifiers.
In the Bundesliga 1, off topic now I suppose, but Julian de Guzman's old team, Hannover 96, are the first to nuke their coach this season, sacking Peter Neururer after only 3 matches.

In the Bundesliga 2, TSV 1860 play a friendly against Bundesliga 1 side VfB Stuttgart tonight with Nik Ledgerwood still in rehab. The amateurs are making the same trip.
Look for Kent O'Connor to get some action in the Regional League South game as the two amateur teams meet in Stuttgart tomorrow. The TSV 1860 amateur side is very short on bodies and will be hard pressed to get their first victory (although they've rung up a few draws).
In the Regional League North, FC St Pauli and Jonathan Bourgault host FC Union Berlin on Saturday. Blerim Rrustemi and Borussia Moenchengladbach amateurs host VfB Luebeck on Sunday.
In the Oberliga Nord, Maycoll Canizales is slated to start as FC Oberneuland host Holstein Kiel II on Saturday.
In the Oberliga Baden-Wuerttemburg, SSV Ulm host SV Waldhof Mannheim (and Victor Oppong) on Friday while Robert Kerek and Bahlinger SC are away to SGV Freiberg on Saturday.

No sign of Kent O'Connor as 1860 Muenchen amateurs drop a 4-1 decision to VfB Stuttgart today in the Regional League North.
Likewise, Jonathan Bourgault does not make in appearance as FC St. Pauli are held scoreless by FC Union Berlin in the Regional League South.
Maycoll Canizales is subbed off in the 53rd minute as FC Oberneuland beat Holstein Kiel II 3-1 in the Oberliga Nord.
Bahlinger SC manage a 1-1 draw away to SGV Freiburg today, no lineups posted.
SV Waldhof Mannheim were beaten 4-1 by SSV Ulm 1846 yesterday with Victor Oppong playing 90 minutes. Bahlinger SC are tied on 10 points after 4 games with first place SSV Ulm with Mannheim one point off the pace.

After last weekend's break for internationals, this weekend the leagues themselves are still out of action, as the opening round of the German DFB Pokal (FA Cup in English) takes place.
    Bundesliga 1 sides in action:
Sat - Energie Cottbus away to RW Essen, (Kapitan Kev McKenna starting)
    - VfL Bochum away to FC 08 Homburg (Imhof still out)
    Bundesliga 2 sides in action:
Sat - FC Kaiserslautern away to 1 FC Gera 2003 (Josh on the bench?)
    - FC St Pauli host Bayern Munich (they must be getting sick of them)
    - can't see JBB getting the start
No Regional League teams (with Canucks) in action in the DFB Pokal.

In other news, Kent O'Connor was on the bench but did not see any action as 1860 Muenchen reserves were dumped 3-0 today by FC Ingolstadt 04 in the Regional League South.
In the Regional League North, Blerim Rrustemi is expected to start as Borussia Moenchengladbach amateurs take on the Werder Bremen amateurs on Sunday.
In the Oberliga Nord, FC St Pauli II host Arminia Hannover on Sunday (we may see Jonathan Bourgault in that one). Also on Sunday, Maycoll Canizales and FC Oberneuland are away to Eintracht Nordhorn.
In the Oberliga Baden-Wuerttemberg, Bahlinger SC (Robert Kerek) host SG Sonnenhof Grossaspach on Saturday while SV Waldhof Mannheim are away to SV Sandhausen on Monday.
    - 1860 Muenchen away to

Energie Cottbus are victims of an upset today as RW Essen knock them out of the cup in the 1st round, with a 1-0 win. Kevin McKenna goes 90 minutes.
Josh Simpson plays the 2nd half as FC Kaiserslautern score a goal in each half to defeat FC Gera 2003 2-0.
Massive upset today as Stuttgarter Kickers knock Hamburger SV out scoring in extra time for a 4-3 win. Werder Bremen could be 1st round casualties as well as they are nearing the end of extra time tied 1-1 with tiny FK Pirmasens.
The VfL Bochum match is later today as well as the FC St Pauli showdown with Bayern Munich (could a T-shirt be born?).
Forgot to mention that 1860 Muenchen are in action tomorrow, away to VfB Luebeck.

1860 Muenchen were also dumped from the Cup in the first round. VfL Bochum did manage to eke out a 2-1 win in their first round game.
No Canucks involved in these games due to Ledgerwood and Imhof out with injury. Jonathan Bourgault did not play for the top FC St Pauli team as they were beaten 2-1 by 10-man Bayern Munich. He did not play for the reserves either.
Maycoll Canizales was subbed out in the 53rd minute in FC Oberneuland's 3-1 win over Holstein Kehl II.
Blerim Rrustemi played 90 minutes on Sunday as Borussia Moenchengladbach amateurs were beaten 2-0 by Werder Bremen amateurs.

The Bundesliga leagues are finally back in action after almost a 3 week break.
On Saturday, Kapitan Kevin McKenna and Energie Cottbus play their 4th game of the season
as they host FSV Mainz 05. A win for Cottbus would be huge as they have done well so far
to earn a win and a draw in their 1st season back in the Bundesliga 1.
Daniel Imhof is finally fit and set to start on Saturday as VfL Bochum are away to 'the Club',
FC Nurnberg. Bochum have had a disappointing start, without a point in 3 games, after doing so well
in the B2 last season (immediately gaining promotion after their 2004/2005 relegation).
In the Bundesliga 2, 1860 Muenchen are away to SC Freiburg on Sunday with Nik Ledgerwood still
    coming back from surgery.
Josh Simpson and FC Kaiserslautern are away to Hansa Rostock in the Monday evening game.
In the Regional League South, 1860 Muenchen amateurs, with Kent O'Connor' host Darmstadt 98
on Saturday. The Munich side are still looking for their first win of the season.
In the Regional League North, FC St. Pauli are playing Bayer Leverkusen amateurs this
evening (no word on whether Jonathan Bourgault is with the big team).
On Sunday, Blerim Rrustemi and Borussia Moenchengladbach amateurs host the
    Hertha Berlin SC amateurs.
In the Oberliga North, Maycoll Canizales and FC Oberneuland are in action right now
as they host the VfL Osnabrueck amateurs.
On Sunday, FC St Pauli II are away to the amateurs of VfL Wolfsburg where we are more likely
to see Jonathan Bourgault in action.
In the Oberliga Baden-Wurttemberg, Robert kerek of Bahlinger SC are in action now away to
FC Emmendingen. On Saturday, Victor Oppong and SV Waldhof Mannheim host SC Freiburg amateurs.
Finally, in the Oberliga NOFW North, Ryan Thomson and Tennis Borussia Berlin are in action
    next Wednesday against BFC Dynamo.

Beaulieu-Borgault did not play in St. Paulis' 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen II. Good to hear that Daniel Imhof will play for Bochum this weekend, i hope he reasserts his position in the club and that they can stay up in Bund1.

McKenna went 90 in a 2-0 win and Imhof went 64 minutes in his return in a 1-1 tie.

    Energie Cotbus - Mainz 05
Both teams have to make amends for their first round losts in German Cup last weekend gainst 2nd and 3rd league teams. Mainz could not win in the stadium of Cotbus and so they try to change the series to their benefit. Cotbus still hopes of their crowd at home to support them to the next 3 points. Kevin McKenna is one of the players who did not miss any second this season which shows his role in the team.

    1.FC Nürnberg - Vfl Bochum
Daniel Imhof has to travel for his debut this season to the surprising leader of Nürnberg. 7 points out of the first 3 games among other things a game in the Alianz Arena shows the team on the top, which is surprising as the team fought a long time last year against the descent. Imhof will play his first game after his knee injury. He finished the entire program this week, so that is waiting for his first appereance.

    Bielefeld - Bayern
Bayern had a good start into this year CL season with a 4:0 victory against Moscouw. Owen played the 90 minutes with a strong performance. It seems that now after all the hassle in the last weeks he should concentrate on his job and then he will be one of the best midfielder in the Bundesliga.

    Hansa Rostock - 1.FC Kaiserslautern
Rostock is a kind of bogey opponent. Only one game at the Baltic Sea could be won. Both teams started into the season with one goal, return of to the 1. League. Rostock started with 7, Kaiserlsautern with 6 points, so that this game can be a trendsetting one. Kaiserslautern won his game last week 2:0, with a very medium efficiency. Coach Wolf ascribed it with the bad preperation of the game as a lot of international players played for their homecountries. Josh was one of them and so his presentation suffered under this circumstations. He played 45 minutes, but could not convince.

Owen H did not play 90, he came out mid way in the 1st half with a broken leg. He will likely be out till the midseason break. Could be his last appearance for Bayern Munich.
Local news said Bayern Munich were playing 'Armenia' today. Time warp?

Nik Ledgerwood is still out as 1860 Munich were disappointed to have SC Freiburg come back late to draw 1-1 today in Munich.

Good to see the confidence Bochum management has toward Imhoff, starting him after a long injury. I know canadians fans aren't very high on Imhoff but a player who plays in the Bundesliga is a good player for our MNT.

The start also had something to do with an injury to another player at his position. This is not to say they wouldn't have started him anyway but their hand was forced by the injury.

As Grizzly has posted on the other site, very positive reviews for Josh among the K-town fans.

High profile matchup for him in the German FA Cup (DFB Pokal) as FC Kaiserslautern venture south to Allianz Arena to take on Bayern Munich October 18th I believe.

Big Kev went 90 as Energie come from behind and tied Nurnberg 1-1. After tying the game, Kev pushed up to play as a 3rd striker for Energie as they tried for all 3 points. Kev looked ok in the back for Energie, it seems he plays up a bit and covers the opponents target man, contesting any long balls played up. He likes to argue alot with the refs too.

Imhof was subbed off at halftime as Bochum win 2-1.

Second straight start for Josh Simpson today with FC Kaiserslautern as they score early in the second half and Josh is subbed off shortly receiving a yellow card with about 30 minutes to go. SpVgg Unterhaching come back for the 1-1 draw. First away point for K-town this season in the Bundesliga 2.
No sign of Maycoll Canizales today with FC Oberneuland as they cruise to a 5-0 victory in the Oberliga Nord.
Bahlinger SC with Robert Kerek draw 1-1 against FC Nottingen and remain in first place in the Oberliga Baden Wuertemberg. No game report.

Big Kev went 90 for Energie as they lose 3-1 at Arminia Bielefeld.

Imhof was nailed to the bench as Bochum lose again 2-1 at fellow promotion newcomer Almania Aachen.
